Description

Action for Boston Community Development (ABCD) is seeking engaged college students looking to build their social media, photography, videography, and video production skills to volunteer with the Public Information team at the 15th annual Hoop Dreams, a one-of-a-kind basketball benefit at TD Garden. 

About Hoop Dreams:
A spin-off of ABCD Field of Dreams, played at Fenway Park, Hoop Dreams is a basketball “tournament” benefit co-founded by Boston sports columnist and author Bob Ryan, ABCD's longtime Director of Government and Industrial Relations Bob Elias, and NBA Championship-winning Coach Doc Rivers.
 

The event will take place on September 30th, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.



Key Responsibilities

  • Take high-quality photos and videos of games, players, and guests
  • Conduct short players and guest interviews as needed
  • Edit and produce several video shorts, including a sizzle reel, using footage from the event
  • Assist ABCD’s digital communications manager and the Public Information team as needed



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Third or fourth-year college student pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, journalism, media studies, or a similar field
  • Experience taking photos and videos at a large-scale event
  • Experience using video editing software including Adobe Premiere, Adobe Express, and CapCut
  • Experience conducting short interviews
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds
