Your role at Clorox:
Location: OnsiteSchedule: Thursday - Saturday, 4:30 PM - 5:00 AM
Pay Rate: $26.54 per hour
The Packaging Operator is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and maintaining packaging equipment to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products. This role supports daily manufacturing operations by performing equipment changeovers, quality inspections, cleaning and inspection activities, production reporting, and basic troubleshooting. The Packaging Operator is expected to demonstrate ownership of assigned equipment, contribute to continuous improvement efforts, maintain accurate production records, and work collaboratively with team members to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goals.
In this role, you will:
The Packaging Operator will play a key role in the operation and performance of packaging equipment while ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and operational standards.
Equipment Operation & Production
- Safely operate packaging equipment in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.
- Perform Cleaning, Inspection, and Lubrication (CIL) activities and Centerlining (CL) tasks to maintain equipment performance.
- Complete equipment setups and product changeovers efficiently and accurately.
- Monitor equipment performance and product quality throughout the production process.
- Conduct routine quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specifications.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and correct minor equipment abnormalities or escalate issues when necessary.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Shift Lead or Manager.
Production Reporting & Documentation
- Utilize LED and downtime tracking systems to accurately record production losses and downtime events.
- Complete Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) notes and provide clear explanations for downtime and production losses.
- Accurately complete production reports, logs, and required documentation in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records related to quality checks, equipment performance, and production activities.
Teamwork & Collaboration
- Demonstrate ownership and accountability for assigned equipment and production areas.
- Build positive working relationships by assuming positive intent and treating others with respect.
- Communicate effectively with operators, maintenance technicians, quality personnel, and leadership.
- Support team goals and contribute to a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Overtime
- Overtime opportunities may be available based on business needs.
- Overtime assignments will be offered to eligible full-time employees first.
- This position is not eligible to sign up for voluntary overtime opportunities.
What we look for:
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, production, packaging, warehouse, or industrial environment.
- Ability to safely operate manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous packaging, machine operator, or manufacturing operator experience.
- Experience performing machine changeovers and equipment setup.
- Experience completing quality inspections and production documentation.
- Familiarity with OEE reporting, downtime tracking, or production performance metrics.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, CIL, or Centerlining processes.

- Ability to work around moving machinery, production equipment, and industrial environments.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety requirements.

- Additional overtime may be required based on business needs.
