Director, Supply & Project Execution

Primary Function:

The Director, Supply & Project Execution leads Dashiell’s front-end supply chain strategy for major electrical equipment, translating the sales pipeline into a multi-year equipment demand view and coordinating with Supply Chain to plan production capacity ahead of project award. The position will be based in our Houston, Texas office located at 12301 Kurland Drive, Suite 400, Houston, TX 77034 and will report to Dashiell’s Vice President of Operations.

This role builds and maintains relationships with major OEM suppliers, supports bid and risk reviews, and reviews supply chain strategy for major backlog projects. It also contributes to Dashiell’s modularization and e-house integration efforts and supports as a bid project manager, working closely with the pre-construction team and estimating to set projects up for success.

This position is responsible for driving consistency of delivery, proactive communication, and strategic alignment between Dashiell’s operations and customers’ capital program objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities

Employee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:

• Front-end supply chain strategy. Partner with pre-construction engineering and estimating to source major equipment from vetted suppliers with confirmed lead times.
• Standardization. Develop standard, pre-engineered equipment options that estimating can price and execution engineering can build without redesign.
• Supplier strategy and agreements. Build and maintain relationships with major OEM suppliers and negotiate agreements that improve schedule certainty and equipment availability.
• Capacity forecasting and slot strategy. Translate the sales pipeline and forecast into a multi-year equipment demand view, and coordinate with Supply Chain to plan production capacity ahead of project award.
• Bid and risk review. Participate in bid reviews on major pursuits, review proposal schedules against realistic procurement lead times, and present the supply chain strategy at risk reviews.
• Front-end program coverage. Cover the supply chain and schedule role on pursuits without a dedicated project manager or program director, handing off cleanly once one is assigned.
• Backlog remediation. Review current backlog projects, establish a supply chain strategy for each, and support the program managers in executing those strategies.
• Modularization. Contribute to Dashiell’s modularization and e-house integration strategy, including evaluation of fabrication and integration partners.
• Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned or requested.

Scope Boundaries

This role does not own purchasing, expediting, or post-award logistics; Supply Chain owns those functions. The Director develops the strategy and connects it to the front end and to execution. Post-award supplier issues remain with Supply Chain and the project team.

Measures of Success

• Every active bid above a defined threshold has a documented supply chain strategy prior to risk review.
• Standard equipment options are defined and in use in estimates.
• Backlog projects have supply chain plans with committed suppliers and dates.
• Production capacity is reserved for the highest-volume, longest-lead equipment.
• Supplier base is vetted, multi-sourced, and covered by standardization agreements where applicable.

People Leadership

• Partner with Project Directors and Regional Office Leaders to assign the right project management talent to each customer project at the point of release.
• Foster a high-performance, safety-first team culture grounded in accountability, customer focus, and continuous learning.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and development planning sessions with direct reports, building individual growth paths aligned to program and company needs.

Governance, Reporting & Compliance

• Produce executive-level program reporting for internal leadership and the customer, including portfolio dashboards, risk registers, change logs, and financial forecasts.
• Establish and enforce claims readiness protocols across all portfolio projects, ensuring contemporaneous documentation of scope changes, delays, and cost impacts.
• Ensure all projects comply with applicable contract terms, regulatory requirements, and safety standards throughout their lifecycle.
• Maintain lessons-learned documentation and drive continuous improvement of execution processes based on program-wide performance data.

How You Will Make an Impact

• Serve as a defining differentiator in Dashiell’s relationships with key customers, ensuring every project released under a portfolio is delivered with consistency, reliability, and excellence.
• Provide customers with a single, senior point of accountability that simplifies coordination, accelerates decision-making, and deepens their confidence in Dashiell as a long-term execution partner.
• Enable the Vice President of Operations and Project Directors to maintain strategic oversight without becoming the primary conduit for day-to-day customer escalations.
• Improve schedule and cost predictability across a high-volume, concurrent project portfolio through integrated planning, proactive risk management, and disciplined change control.
• Position Dashiell for portfolio growth by continuously demonstrating delivery excellence and identifying opportunities to expand scope within customers’ capital programs.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 15 years experience in high-voltage electrical equipment, including time at a major OEM.
• Proposal, project management, and execution experience.
• Working knowledge of GIS, power transformers, circuit breakers, MV switchgear, protection and controls, and e-house integration.
• Established senior-level relationships across major OEMs.
• Strong understanding of EPC project schedules and procurement sequencing.
• Understanding of high-voltage substation EPC execution, including engineering workflows, equipment procurement, field construction sequencing, and commissioning.
• Proven track record of building and sustaining executive-level customer relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of escalation.
• Expertise in integrated program controls, including Primavera P6 scheduling, earned value management, cost forecasting, and risk management methodologies.
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to represent Dashiell credibly at the customer’s executive level.
• Strong commercial acumen, including experience managing contract compliance, change order negotiations, and claims readiness across large portfolios.
• Demonstrated people leadership skills, with experience managing and developing professional teams in a project-driven environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and digital collaboration and reporting platforms.

Preferred

• Direct experience delivering high-voltage electrical substation, transmission, or power delivery EPC projects at a portfolio or program scale.
• PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project/program management certification.
• Experience operating within a multi-office or geographically distributed EPC organization.
• Familiarity with framework agreements, rate schedule contracts, or master service agreements common in utility capital programs.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit for extended periods during office- and meeting-based work.
• Ability to stand and walk intermittently, including on active construction sites.
• Ability to navigate active construction environments including stairs, ramps, and temporary walkways.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toe boots, FR clothing, and hearing protection, when on active job sites.
• Regular travel to customer facilities, regional offices, and project sites required.

Environmental Conditions

• Primarily climate-controlled office environment at Dashiell’s Houston headquarters.
• Regular exposure to field and industrial environments during project site visits, including active substation and construction sites.
• Travel to customer offices and project sites across multiple regions.
