This role will assist with the development of our internal Angular design system component library, strongly contributing to the stability and scalability of our core frontend frameworks. As a key engineer on the team, you will focus on high-quality component development, ensuring our library is structured and documented in a way that enables AI tools, code generation workflows, and agentic experiences to consume and build with our components. You will work closely with the rest of our framework development team and CSS lead to maintain a cohesive and consistent foundation across design and code.
Integrated within the Design organization, you will produce code that aligns with the standards of our internal design library. This is a core engineering role focused on building and maintaining high-performance Angular components that deliver a best-in-class user experience to our clients, both internally and externally. You will also partner closely with internal development teams to provide onboarding, integration guidance, and ongoing technical support as they adopt the library.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and improve reusable Angular UI components aligned to our design system guidelines
- Write unit tests using Jasmine/Karma and end-to-end (e2e) tests using Cypress
- Develop and maintain complex data table and filtering features within the design system
- Collaborate on reactive form components and form input patterns defined by the design system
- Ensure all components meet accessibility standards (WCAG) through automated testing tools
- Help maintain and generate component documentation
- Apply consistent code quality standards using ESLint and Prettier
- Work within the Angular library project structure, including ng-package, schematics, and multiple tsconfig targets
- Work with AI to accelerate development of the library, and to embed the design system into our internal AI solutions
- Participate in the versioning and release of the Angular component library and provide support to its consumers
Required Skills
- 2–5 years of hands-on experience with Angular (v15+; project is on Angular 21) and a solid understanding of reusable component-level development
- Strong understanding of TypeScript and RxJS
- Experience with Angular Reactive Forms and component lifecycle hooks
- Proficiency with HTML/SCSS and component-level styling using design tokens
- Experience writing high-quality code that is well-documented and easy to maintain with accompanying unit tests and familiarity with end-to-end (e2e) testing
- Comfortable working in a monorepo and Angular library project structure
- Comfortable working within Figma to analyze design specifications
- Solid Git workflow skills, including branching, pull requests (PRs), and code reviews
- Strong attention to detail & analytical skills
- Strong communication skills, and ability to raise and escalate concerns when appropriate
- Stay up to date on the latest software development trends and technologies
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Prior experience contributing to or consuming a design system or component library
- Familiarity with Angular CDK and advanced component patterns, such as portals, overlays, and virtual scrolling
- Experience with Angular Schematics, including ng-add, ng-generate, and ng-update
- Awareness of WCAG/accessibility principles and automated accessibility (a11y) testing
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and containerized deployments using Docker and Helm
Education
- Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
