- Works closely with small communications team to assist with implementation of developed communication plans for technology project campaigns to employee stakeholders.
- Implementation of communications plans may include:
- Writing copy for emails, graphics, instructional materials, and intranet
o Developing and managing project SharePoint sites
o Creating stakeholder feedback surveys, monitor surveys, analyze data, and write data summary reports
o Assisting with contract graphic designer to develop graphics for project campaigns
o Working with communications team to plan, design, and launch department newsletter
o Writing, recording, editing, and posting instructional videos - Assists with communications coordination for governance groups by preparing PowerPoints / slide decks, reports, or other information
• Attends project team meetings as well as department staff meetings
• Learns and / or knows digital communications compliance
• Provides excellent customer service to employees
• Be a collaborative, cooperative team member who will work with cross-functional teams
• Be solution-oriented
• Be willing to work under established – sometimes tight -- deadlines - Other duties as assigned
- Understanding of / Experience in / Willingness to Learn Microsoft 365 apps (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Forms, Outlook and Clipchamp)
- Exhibits a polished, professional writing style
- Demonstrates superior written English
- Possesses the ability to take complex ideas and turn them into easily understood copy in English
- Builds trust with stakeholders and team members by communicating promptly, following through, completing assignment, and meeting deadlines
- Refined digital production skills (recording, editing, etc.)
- Ability to move between varying levels of stakeholder groups with comfort (executive-level, subject matter experts, end users, etc.)
- Support the mission of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission by managing physical growth, protecting natural and historic resources, and providing recreational experiences for Montgomery and Prince George's Counties, Maryland.
Additional Qualifications (quantitative skills, computer familiarity/software skills, oral or written communication skills:
- High level of professionalism (punctual, communicative, reliable, respectful)
- Computer skills
- Willingness to learn new digital skills to accomplish project goals
