Description

Do you have effective project coordination skills with the ability to find creative solutions during a time crunch? Are you an experienced leader with residential construction knowledge and a desire to meet targets?

As the Turnover & Commissioning Supervisor you will be responsible for directing the Regional Turnover and Commissioning teams during the commissioning and turnover phases of our new apartment buildings. These phases allow our construction side, Seymour Pacific Developments, to turn over the sites to our operations side, Broadstreet Properties, for occupancy. The role will work closely with Manitoba Region and Head Office staff and third-party trades to resolve risks and issues through effective communication and problem solving. 

Your contributions to the team include:

  • Manage and prioritize daily tasks of Regional Staff
  • Resolve any problems or inconsistencies which occur throughout the Commissioning and Inspection phase of a project
  • Use project scheduling and control tools to monitor course of the project, issues, and overall project health
  • Attend stakeholder meetings and assist with determination of Commissioning and Inspection Requirements
  • Manage and prioritize Work Orders for the length of a project until completed
  • File all project documents appropriately (hard and soft copies)
  • Organize, compile and submit supporting documentation on completion of project
  • Coordinate Purchase Orders and the organization of site level materials
  • Travel to assess the state of projects to determine accurate timelines
  • Weekly coordination for project and travel planning for regional staff
  • Audit sites to ensure Operational Standards are being met  
  • Coordinate with 3rd party trades and develop scopes of work, timelines, and budgets

What you need to be successful:

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Project Management or equivalent
  • 5+ years' experience in a Project Coordination role
  • Previous experience working in a supervisory capacity
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Experience using construction management software an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of sound change management practices
  • Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • PMP certification is an asset
