Overnight Licensed Veterinary Technician

Who We Are:

The Hospital for Veterinary Surgery (HVS), the first surgery-exclusive veterinary hospital in New York City, is seeking to further build our team for inpatient care with the addition of a licensed overnight Technician/Technologist. We are looking for an LVT to cover 12-hour (7pm-7am) overnight shifts on either a part-time or full-time basis. Sunday shift (7pm Sunday to 7am Monday) is required as part of the available schedule.

We are a collaborative team of passionate veterinary professionals, practicing in a clinician-designed, 10,000 square foot facility. This role is responsible for working in conjunction with our overnight veterinarian and veterinary assistant to provide exceptional care to post-op patients.

What You’ll Do:

• Monitoring patient recovery, ensuring our standard of client and patient experience is met
• Placing and maintaining intravenous, central, arterial, and urinary catheters
• Maintaining feeding tubes and chest tubes
• Monitoring patients requiring oxygen supplementation and transfusions
• Patient care inclusive of pre and post outpatient surgical care- Obtaining blood samples, removing sutures, placing bandages

• Licensure in New York State
• Experience with practice management software (ezyVet is our in-house system)
