Overview
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and delivery of bridge and transportation infrastructure works within the Projects. The role will lead multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery in accordance with contractual requirements, approved budgets, project schedules, quality standards, HSE requirements, and client expectations.
Your role
Project Planning & Delivery
- Lead the planning and execution of bridge and infrastructure project activities from inception through completion.
- Develop project execution plans, delivery strategies, and implementation roadmaps.
- Ensure project objectives are achieved in relation to scope, quality, schedule, budget, and safety.
- Manage project resources and construction activities to meet programme milestones.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure alignment of project delivery with RCRC requirements and client expectations.
Design & Construction Coordination
- Coordinate activities between design consultants, construction teams, contractors, and authorities.
- Review engineering deliverables to ensure constructability and compliance with project objectives.
- Manage design changes and ensure timely implementation of approved modifications.
- Resolve technical and construction-related issues affecting project delivery.
- Lead multidisciplinary coordination meetings and technical workshops.
Contract & Commercial Management
- Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
- Support administration of FIDIC and infrastructure-related contracts.
- Review variations, claims, and change requests.
- Coordinate with commercial and contracts teams to manage cost and contractual risks.
- Ensure commercial objectives are achieved while protecting project interests.
- Support negotiations and resolution of contractual matters.
Programme & Schedule Management
- Develop and monitor project schedules in coordination with planning teams.
- Track progress against key milestones and contractual deliverables.
- Identify risks to schedule and implement recovery plans where necessary.
- Coordinate construction sequencing and interface management activities.
- Ensure effective integration of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
Stakeholder & Client Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
- Lead client meetings and project review sessions.
- Ensure timely communication of project status, challenges, risks, and opportunities.
Risk Management
- Identify and manage project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Establish mitigation measures for technical, commercial, operational, and schedule-related risks.
- Maintain project risk registers and action plans.
- Lead risk review workshops and management reviews.
- Ensure proactive management of emerging issues and opportunities.
Quality Management
- Ensure project works comply with approved specifications, standards, and quality requirements.
- Monitor implementation of Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures.
- Support inspections, audits, testing, and handover activities.
- Ensure completion of punch lists and close-out requirements.
- Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement across the project team.
Health, Safety & Environmental Leadership
- Champion a strong Health, Safety, and Environmental culture across the project.
- Ensure compliance with project HSE plans, client requirements, and Saudi regulations.
- Support incident prevention and risk management initiatives.
- Participate in safety leadership walks, inspections, and audits.
- Promote the successful achievement of project safety objectives.
Team Leadership & Resource Management
- Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams including engineering, commercial, planning, quality, HSE, and construction personnel.
- Establish clear objectives and performance expectations.
- Mentor and develop project team members.
- Ensure effective workforce planning and resource allocation.
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and high performance across all project functions.
Project Controls & Reporting
- Monitor project performance through key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Prepare executive project updates for senior management and client stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely project reporting.
Interface & Utility Coordination
- Manage interfaces between bridge works, roadway infrastructure, utilities, traffic systems, and adjacent projects.
- Coordinate utility relocation activities and authority approvals.
- Oversee traffic management and detour implementation requirements.
- Ensure effective integration between all project disciplines and work packages.
Testing, Commissioning & Handover
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
- Ensure project systems and assets meet specification requirements before handover.
- Coordinate with client representatives and operational stakeholders.
- Manage project close-out, documentation, and asset handover processes.
- Ensure successful transition to operations and maintenance teams.
About you
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering Management, or MBA is highly desirable.
- PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng), Professional Engineer (PE), or equivalent registration is highly advantageous.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 20 years of experience in major infrastructure and transportation projects.
- Minimum 10 years in Project Management roles involving bridge and transportation infrastructure delivery.
- Experience delivering projects valued at USD 100 Million+.
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia and GCC infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
- Experience within consultant, PMC, client-side, or major contractor organizations is desirable.
