Description
Responsible for configuring, implementing, monitoring, maintaining, and administering the organization's enterprise applications, virtual and physical servers, backups, file systems, and cloud environments. Provides elevated end user support, helpdesk assistance and AV support for the daily operation.
Responsible for installing, configuring, implementing, monitoring, maintaining and the administration of the organizations enterprise applications, virtual and physical servers, backups, file systems and cloud environments. Provides elevated end-user support, helpdesk assistance, and AV support for the daily operation. Collects information on systems-level project specifications, performance requirements, and known capabilities and limitations. Determines hardware system status and limitations by gathering and evaluating information on a variety of factors including security and reporting needs. Reviews and modifies existing systems software to improve performance, correct errors, and conform with compatibility requirements of available hardware. Determines feasibility of proposed system modifications or design, ensuring the needs and requirements of the user will be met within time and cost requirements. Designs systems software to meet necessary requirements, collaborating with IT staff and outside developers as needed. Develops and leads software system testing and validation procedures; compiles relevant documentation. Coordinates and schedules installation of software system. Trains, or provides training documentation to, users on new or modified systems and networks. Works under general supervision and direct guidance from the supervisor on matters related to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy positions. Work is generally independent and proceeds on own initiative while complying with policies, practices, processes, and procedures. Exercises discretion and independent judgment on significant matters. Consults supervisor for guidance on more complex matters. Works collaboratively with others. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Network Administration, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or other closely related IT field plus a minimum of two years of relevant experience required; knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise system management. Knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration, Office 365 services, SaaS applications, and identity/access management. Skills in managing virtualized server environments, hypervisors, and cloud platforms. Skill in troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware, software, network, telephony, and audiovisual technology issues. Ability to install, configure, monitor, maintain, and secure Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android operating systems and devices. Skills in automating system administration tasks using PowerShell, Mobile Device Management (MDM) tools, and enterprise deployment technologies. Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, patch management, cybersecurity principles, data protection, and system monitoring best practices. Ability to communicate technical information effectively to technical and non-technical users, prioritize workload, and provide high-level customer support. Knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Zoom, conference room technologies, digital signage, and audiovisual support systems. Ability to configure and support remote meetings, Board meetings, and agency-wide events. Skill in documenting technical procedures, system configurations, and operational processes. Ability to work independently and collaboratively while exercising sound judgment and maintaining attention to detail. Knowledge of enterprise storage systems, printing services, telephony systems, and data center technologies. Ability to coordinate system upgrades, maintenance activities, and after-hours support while minimizing operational downtime. Knowledge and understanding of server virtualization. Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications and administration tools. Working experience with computer, server, phone, hardware, software support, and datacenter technologies. Knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity best practices. Ability to manage Windows Server 2025/2022/2019/2016 domains and Active Directory. Familiarity with cloud computing technologies, such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services (AWS). Possess the ability to communicate across teams and with technical and non-technical professionals. Ability to exercise initiative, independent judgment, and responsibility. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Preferred certifications, such as AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft 365 Administrator, and CompTIA Server+, are highly desirable. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Job performance may require listening, seeing, sitting, talking, carrying; occasional reaching, grasping, lifting, handling, pulling or pushing, balancing, climbing, crawling, kneeling and carrying of items such as boxes of materials, books, etc. with weights not exceeding 50 pounds; limited walking, standing, stooping, and bending; some irregular hours and long workdays and moderate levels of stress. Job is performed primarily in an office environment with infrequent trips to other offices and limited exposure to weather conditions.
