Mintahoe Catering & Events is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Server to provide meal service to residents at the Leo C. Burns Residence. This position focuses on dining room setup, serving meals, clearing tables, cleaning, and providing friendly, attentive service to residents.
The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in creating a welcoming and positive dining experience.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Meal & Dining Service
- Set up the dining room prior to meal service, including tables, place settings, beverages, and service areas.
- Serve meals and beverages to residents in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ensure residents receive the correct meals and requested items.
- Check on residents during meal service and respond promptly to reasonable requests.
- Clear dishes, glassware, and utensils throughout and following meal service.
- Reset dining areas for the next meal or service period.
- Assist with special meals, gatherings, and events as needed.
Resident Service
- Provide friendly, respectful, and attentive service to residents and guests.
- Help create a comfortable and welcoming dining environment.
- Communicate resident requests or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain professionalism and discretion when interacting with residents and guests.
- Work cooperatively with culinary and other team members to ensure smooth meal service.
Cleaning & Sanitation
- Clean and sanitize tables, chairs, counters, beverage stations, and dining areas.
- Assist with washing and putting away dishes, glassware, utensils, and service items.
- Maintain clean and organized dining and service areas.
- Complete assigned opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties.
- Follow established sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety procedures.
Operational Support
- Restock beverages, condiments, napkins, utensils, and other dining room supplies.\
- Follow established meal schedules and service procedures.
- Communicate with the Culinary Manager and team members regarding daily service needs.
- Assist with other dining room and service-related duties as assigned.
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience
- Previous serving, restaurant, banquet, hospitality, or food service experience preferred.
- Experience working in senior living, residential dining, healthcare, or a similar environment is a plus.
Physical Requirements
This position requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods; bend, reach, carry, and perform repetitive tasks; safely carry trays, dishes, beverages, and service items; and lift and carry up to 30 pounds. The position requires the ability to work at a steady pace during meal service.
Work Environment
Work is primarily performed in dining and food service areas within the Leo C. Burns Residence. The position involves regular interaction with residents, guests, and team members and requires adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time position. Typical hours are 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; however, schedules may vary based on operational needs.
