Prosthetics and Orthotics Clinic at Harborview has an outstanding opportunity for a Patient Services Specialist 3 .
WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours per week)
Day Shift
Mondays- Fridays
Occasional Telework after successful probationary period

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The Prosthetics and Orthotics Clinic provides spinal and upper and lower limb orthoses and prostheses to help patients recover from a lost limb, debilitating injury or disease. Patients are seen in our Eastlake Clinic or at Harborview in the Ninth & Jefferson Building on the 9th floor.
An orthosis is a brace that increases the stability of the spine or extremity. A prosthesis is an artificial limb that replaces an arm or a leg. We offer comprehensive consultation and custom design of orthotic and prosthetic devices to restore function and promote healing.
Our team of American Board certified prosthetists, orthotists, pedorthists, and orthotic fitters will craft prosthetic and orthotic solutions to address your unique mobility needs. We will work with you and your rehabilitation team to provide custom orthotics and prosthetics to meet the demands of everyday life and for specialized activity use.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedules patient appointments consistent with patient needs and clinic scheduling guidelines in EPIC
Works with internal authorization team to obtain authorizations and verifies insurance coverage/benefits for planned services
Partners with clinical staff to help manage their custom patient administrative work and communicates with clinicians regularly to track progress
Assists in processing clinic referrals and obtaining missing or incomplete referral information or documentation
Maintains and updates provider and clinic schedules, including cancellations and rescheduled appointments
Provides professional patient communication by answering questions, directing patients to appropriate resources, and maintaining confidentiality
Assists with patient check-in/check-out, registration, and completion of required forms and paperwork
Provides data management, tracking, research, and clerical support to help maintain clinic workflow and efficiency
Identifies process issues, communicates scheduling conflicts or inefficiencies, and helps recommend workflow improvements
Supports educational environment for clinic staff in training hospital environment

REQUIREMENTS
High school graduation or equivalent
Two years Patient Services Specialist 2 experience
ORAn equivalent combination of education/experience
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration
