Machine Tool Service Technician
Job Summary
Nidec Minster Corporation, the largest manufacturer of material forming presses in the United States, has an immediate opening for a Machine Tool Service Technician. This person will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance to assist customers with their Minster supplied equipment, supervising/instructing personnel in setting up equipment in customer plants, training customer's personnel on proper maintenance, and operation of Minster equipment. These duties will be performed at the customers' site 50% of the time, and 50% will take place at our Minster, OH facilities.
Job Responsibilities- In House Rotation (12 weeks)
- Building metal forming, automation, and related equipment.
- Interface with mechanical and electrical engineers, project managers, sales staff, and customers while building Minster's "engineered to order" products.
- Work from blueprints and use a variety of measuring instruments while working in close tolerances.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to accomplish the work.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities- Field Rotation (12 weeks)
- Provide technical and maintenance support to Minster's customers with their metal forming equipment.
- Commission new and remanufactured metal forming equipment in customer's plants.
- Audit customer's metal forming equipment and report all repair requirements found.
- Provide written and oral reports in English and in an accurate and professional manner.
- Promote service parts and preventative maintenance contracts.
- Work flexible hours to support customer service needs.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Graduate from joint vocational schools or technical college preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic troubleshooting and installation techniques.
- Capable of performing mechanical press repair or mechanical knowledge of machinery found in a manufacturing environment.
- Capable of reading blueprints.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Represent Nidec Minster Corporation effectively in business and social situations as may be required.
- Able to work effectively with minimum supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- 50% or more travel is required both domestically and internationally.
