Why Join Our Team?

  • Work collaboratively with residents, families, physicians, nursing staff, and other departments.
  • Contribute to a culture centered on dignity, respect, teamwork, and quality care.
  • Continue developing your professional skills through education and hands-on experience.

Position Overview

The RN is responsible for supervising and coordinating nursing activities during the assigned NOC shift in accordance with applicable regulations, professional standards, and facility policies.

The RN provides direct resident care as needed while serving as a clinical resource and leader for the nursing team. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, professionalism, organization, communication, and a genuine commitment to resident well-being.

Key Responsibilities

NOC Shift Leadership

  • Supervise the nursing team and coordinate resident care throughout the overnight shift.
  • Help ensure appropriate staffing and assignments for RNs/LVNs and CNAs.
  • Provide guidance, support, and direction to nursing staff.
  • Make sound independent clinical decisions and respond appropriately to changing resident conditions.
  • Conduct rounds and monitor residents' physical, emotional, and clinical status.
  • Maintain a calm, respectful, and positive environment throughout the shift.
  • Communicate important resident and staffing information to the Director of Nursing and incoming shift.

Resident Care

  • Provide compassionate, resident-centered nursing care.
  • Assess residents and promptly recognize and respond to changes in condition.
  • Notify physicians and responsible parties of significant changes as appropriate.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to orders, care plans, and facility policies.
  • Monitor medication passes and treatment schedules for accuracy and completion.
  • Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
  • Perform vital signs, assessments, IV starts, and specimen collection as ordered and within scope of practice.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
  • Monitor residents requiring increased observation or clinical attention.
  • Work with residents and families to address questions, concerns, and care needs.
  • Promote resident dignity, safety, comfort, and quality of life.

Compliance, Safety & Quality

  • Follow facility policies, nursing standards, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Protect resident privacy and confidential health information and maintain HIPAA compliance.
  • Complete required reports and documentation, including accident/incident reports.
  • Promote infection prevention, proper hand hygiene, PPE use, and safe nursing practices.
  • Ensure nursing staff follow established safety, sanitation, emergency, and infection-control procedures.
  • Participate in quality assurance, care planning, and performance improvement activities as assigned.
  • Report safety concerns, equipment issues, occupational exposures, or other concerns according to facility policy.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Collaborate effectively with CNAs, LVNs, RNs, physicians, therapy staff, and other departments.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, staff, and leadership.
  • Support a culture of teamwork, accountability, and mutual respect.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to nursing staff.
  • Participate in staff meetings, committees, in-service training, and continuing education as required.

What We're Looking For

  • Compassionate and committed to resident-centered care.
  • Dependable and comfortable working independently during the overnight shift.
  • A confident clinical decision-maker with strong critical-thinking skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize effectively.
  • A positive team player who leads by example.
  • Professional, approachable, and respectful.
  • Comfortable providing leadership and direction to nursing staff.
  • Committed to high standards of safety, compliance, and quality care.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of nursing practices, procedures, and regulations applicable to skilled nursing/long-term care.

  • Ability to meet applicable physical and job-related requirements.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in skilled nursing or long-term care.
