The Village of Itasca is seeking a qualified and innovative IT professional to fill a full-time Innovation and IT Project Manager position in the Administration Department. Under the supervision of the Finance Director, the Innovation and IT Project Manager oversees the day-to-day IT operations and IT improvement projects. The Innovation and IT Project Manager collaborates with the members of the executive team to foster a culture of innovation which leverages technology for both organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
In this role, the Innovation and IT Project Manager oversees IT consulting services, develops and implements a five-year IT Plan, manages the IT portion of the annual budget, coordinates security assessments and identified enhancements, and collaborates with staff to evaluate current practices in order to enhance, upgrade, and replace existing systems and processes as needed.
In the coming year, the Innovation and IT Project Manager will also lead the Village’s transition to the GIS Consortium and oversee the continual services provided by the GIS Consortium.

The FY 2027 Budget includes approximately $1 million in IT projects, consulting services, and licensing. The Village has a diversified revenue stream with very strong sales tax, property tax, utility tax and income tax.
Compensation & Benefits
The starting salary for this position is $110,000 +/- DOQ plus an excellent benefits package including IMRF pension participation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in information technology, computer science, business, public administration, or closely related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Master’s Degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of increasingly responsible information technology or project management experience. Government experience preferred.
- Knowledge of computers, hardware, software applications and network infrastructure.
- Knowledge of ERP system(s), Microsoft 365, GIS, and SCADA and ability to learn new software systems.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Illinois drivers’ license.
