Overview
Lead F5 BIG-IP technologies (LTM/GTM), developing iRules, SSL offload, health monitors and traffic policies to optimize application delivery and traffic management.
Implement and evolve network security architecture (firewalls, VPNs, segmentation/micro-segmentation) across on-prem and cloud environments, while troubleshooting network issues, conducting rule reviews, maintaining documentation, managing upgrades, and collaborating cross-functionally to stay current with emerging threats and technologies.
Evaluate and recommend Network tools/technologies; develop standards, policies, and documentation; provide technical leadership through architecture reviews and mentoring.
Design, build, and maintain network infrastructures for a complex research and teaching environment; track and respond to emerging threats.

Principal Responsibilities
1. Provide expertise to the design, configuration, implementation, operation, major upgrades, and security of network systems. 2. Serve as technical expert for complex systems and identify solutions to issues and system/service interruption. 3. Lead and oversee departmental projects; build and maintain project management skills. 4. Develop processes and procedures for design, maintenance, and operation of networks to ensure consistent and reliable operation to meet the business needs. 5. Participate in the architecture and design of network systems. 6. Evaluate potential equipment, components, and software; analyze the cost/benefit of emerging technology. 7. Assess and strengthen measures to control access to and use of critical assets. 8. Create and implement new solutions to existing systems to increase performance. 9. Investigate and analyze network requirements and develop specifications. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree and seven years of experience or equivalent education and experience. Required License(s) or Certification(s) Network Administrator Certification Skills and Abilities Well-developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Well-developed interpersonal, written, communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Proven ability to lead and manage staff. Proven expertise with systems analysis methods and techniques.
