Assistant Deputy Public Advocate 1

Under the direction of a Division Director or other supervisory officer in the Department of the Public Advocate assists such officer in the performance of professional duties necessary to the adequate representation and protection of the public interest in proceedings concerning the division; does related work as required.Graduation from an accredited Law School with a Juris Doctorate Degree (JD). Three (3) years of experience as a practicing attorney. Appointees must be licensed as an Attorney-at-Law in the State of New Jersey.

Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

New hires should have at least 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney. Those with fewer than 10 years of experience will only be considered for ADPA2 or ADPA3 positions and should apply to the ADPA2 job posting (fewer than 5 years) or ADPA3 job posting (fewer than 10 years).
