Business Operations Lead DACH (m/w/d)

Role Purpose :

Owns the DACH operating backbone, ensuring a consistent business rhythm, transparent performance management, and data-driven decision making. The role integrates commercial operations, performance governance, forecasting, business insights, territory design support, and workplace & employee experience.

Direct Reports: 5-7 FTEs

Reports to: Managing Director Germany / Head of EU-1 (DACH & Poland)

Location: DACH Region (primary office Germany; regular travel across DE / AT / CH)

Scope & Accountability:

- DACH operating model, governance, and business cadence
- Performance tracking, forecasting, and business insights
- Territory design, customer segmentation, and coverage models
- CRM governance and data quality
- Sales enablement infrastructure
- Workplace operations (including facilities and fleet management) across DACH, with coordination interfaces in locations where facility ownership is managed externally
- Leadership of Business Operations, including analytics and workplace teams

Key Responsibilities:

I.

Commercial Operations & Governance
- Own and run the DACH business cadence, including performance reviews, forecasting cycles, and disciplined follow-up
- Ensure transparency, data quality, and consistent reporting standards

Performance Management, Insights & Forecasting
- Deliver forecast accuracy and actionable performance insights
- Lead development of business analytics and ensure robust, decision-ready insights across DACH
- Enable fact-based decision making across leadership

Territory & Coverage Design
- Own design, analytics, and governance of territories, segmentation, and coverage models (e.g. field vs inside sales)
- Define allocation logic and assess impact through scenario modelling
- Ensure correct system implementation and ongoing governance
- Final commercial decisions and execution remain with Sales leadership

Business Insights & Opportunity Assessment
- Evaluate new business opportunities using data, market insights, and financial inputs
- Prepare business cases and leadership recommendations (no standalone BD ownership)

Cross-functional Integration
- Enable alignment across Sales, Marketing & Marker Access, Finance, Legal and HR through transparent data, consistent reporting, and structured business discussions

II.

Workplace Operations & Employee Experience

- Ensure reliable workplace operations across DACH, including facilities management, fleet oversight, vendor management, and compliance, with coordination in locations where facilities are externally managed
- Oversee facilities infrastructure (offices, leases, services) and fleet management, ensuring cost control, compliance, and operational reliability within defined scope
- Coordinate with external facility owners or shared-site counterparts to ensure alignment of workplace standards and operational needs
- Oversee deskside support and day-to-day workplace services
- Coordinate office-based engagement activities and team events
- Accountable for management representation in culture and engagement forums (e.g. Culture Council), either directly or via delegation within the team, ensuring alignment with business priorities and effective implementation
- In smaller markets, supports defined operational activities (e.g. second-level customer service) on a fractional basis, aligned with local needs and in coordination with relevant functions

- Quality, relevance, and timeliness of business insights
- Effectiveness of territory and coverage models
- Delivery and discipline of business cadence
- Workplace service quality, including facilities and fleet cost control within defined scope

Experience & Qualifications:
 

- Strong experience in Business Operations, Commercial Operations, or similar
- Proven analytical, governance, and performance management capabilities
- Experience leading or working with business analytics / commercial insights
- Experience with territory design and segmentation
- Experience with facilities and/or fleet management is an advantage
- Strong cross-functional leadership and execution skills
- Fluent German and English (mandatory)
