Huatai's RMB market-making business maintains comprehensive licenses covering the interbank bond market, exchange-traded bond market, Treasury bond futures, interest rate swaps, Bond Connect and Swap Connect. As one of the leading market-making platforms in the industry, the business is a key component of the firm's institutional services franchise and cross-border strategy. With the continued internationalization of the RMB and the ongoing development of Hong Kong's offshore RMB market, we are seeking an experienced Director-level trader to support the expansion of our offshore RMB market-making business and contribute to the development of new trading initiatives and client solutions.

Job Description:

  • Lead offshore RMB bond market-making activities and ensure effective risk management of trading positions.
  • Monitor market developments, macroeconomic trends and fundamental drivers affecting RMB fixed income markets.
  • Develop and optimize pricing models, market-making strategies and trading initiatives to enhance profitability and liquidity provision.
  • Manage trading books and account exposures while maintaining appropriate risk controls.
  • Drive the build-out and enhancement of offshore market-making infrastructure, including system design, testing and implementation.
  • Develop strong relationships with regulators, institutional clients and market participants.
  • Provide strategic market insights to support business growth and product development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across trading, sales, research, risk and technology functions.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or above in Finance, Financial Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Quantitative Finance, Computer Science or related disciplines.
  • 13-15 years of relevant experience in fixed income trading, market-making or rates trading within banks, securities firms or other financial institutions.
  • Strong knowledge of the China bond market, offshore RMB products and cross-border fixed income trading.
  • Proven track record of managing sizable fixed income trading portfolios and generating sustainable trading performance.
  • Deep understanding of pricing, liquidity management and risk management frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic trading environment.
