The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Transformer Business Unit in Greater China operates across 55 cities, employs over 1,900 staff, and manages 5 transformer manufacturing plants. More than 90% of its sales come from locally manufactured products. We offer a comprehensive portfolio of Transformers Products, Solutions and Services.  Transformers are essential in all electricity-related fields and applications, including power generation, transmission and distribution, oil, chemical and gas, industrial manufacturing, semiconductor and data centers, as well as building and transportation sectors.

How you’ll make an impact

1. You will develop and implement comprehensive account strategies for State Grid and UHV sector customers to support long-term business growth and market penetration.

2. You will build and maintain strong multi-level relationships with key decision-makers, technical stakeholders, procurement teams, and executive leadership.

3. You will identify customer investment plans, business priorities, and future project opportunities to position the company as a preferred strategic partner.

4. You will conduct regular executive visits, business reviews, and customer engagement activities to strengthen partnerships and improve customer satisfaction.

5. You will act as the commercial champion for Hefei factory products, including UHV Bushings and On-Load Tap Changers.

6. You will develop product-specific growth strategies aligned with State Grid investment plans and UHV project pipelines.

7. You will promote technical and commercial advantages of the product portfolio through customer presentations, technical workshops, industry events, and executive-level engagement.

8. You will work closely with product management, engineering, and factory teams to communicate customer requirements and market feedback.

9. You will identify opportunities for product upgrades, replacement projects, brownfield modernization initiatives, and lifecycle service offerings.

10. You will support market positioning initiatives and contribute to long-term business development strategies for the Hefei product portfolio.

11. You will monitor UHV industry developments, State Grid investment plans, regulatory policies, and market trends.

12. You will analyze customer needs, competitor activities, technology developments, and procurement strategies to identify business opportunities.

13. You will maintain a structured opportunity management system to track project progress and potential revenue.

14. You will prepare market intelligence reports, customer analyses, and competitive assessments to support strategic planning.

15. You will identify and qualify major transmission, substation, and UHV infrastructure projects at an early stage.

16. You will lead the commercial management of strategic projects from opportunity identification through contract award and project execution.

17. You will coordinate internal resources across engineering, tendering, production, supply chain, logistics, quality, and service functions.

18. You will monitor project milestones and ensure timely completion of key deliverables.

19. You will identify and mitigate commercial, operational, and contractual risks throughout the project lifecycle.

20. You will resolve customer issues and project escalations proactively to maintain project performance and customer confidence.

21. You will partner closely with tendering teams to support bidding activities for UHV and grid infrastructure projects.

22. You will analyze tender requirements and develop effective bid-winning strategies.

23. You will contribute to technical and commercial proposal preparation, pricing strategy development, and value proposition positioning.

24. You will support customer clarification meetings, negotiations, and contract finalization.

25. You will continuously improve bid quality and win rates through lessons learned and best-practice sharing.

26. You will serve as the central coordination point between customers and internal stakeholders.

27. You will align resources across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, service, and management teams to deliver project commitments.

Facilitate internal communication and decision-making to ensure rapid response to customer requirements.

28. You will drive accountability across functions to support project execution and customer satisfaction.

29. You will lead internal project review meetings and ensure effective issue resolution.

30. You will be responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

1. At least 2 years’ experience in State Grid, UHV transmission, or related energy sectors.

2. Demonstrated management of utility, infrastructure, EPC, or industrial clients. Knowledge of State Grid procurement, tendering, and project management.

3.Proven experience managing utility, infrastructure, EPC, or large industrial customers.

4. Familiarity with State Grid procurement processes, tendering proce-dures, and project management practices.

5. Previous experience supporting UHV, transmission, substation, or grid modernization projects is highly desirable.

6. Established relationships within State Grid, provincial grid companies, power design institutes, transformer OEMs, and EPC contractors will be considered a strong advantage.
