Roller Floor Attendant

Overview

A Mill Roller Floor Attendant is responsible for assisting in the safe, efficient and continues operation of the roller floor section in a maize milling plant. The role focuses on monitoring roller mills, maintaining good housekeeping through picking up chokes and cleaning the work area, equipment inspection, and supporting the miller to achieve production targets.

 

 

Responsibilities

• Monitor roller mills, feeders and conveying equipment.
• Ensure proper product flow from rolls to airlifts, monitoring for possible chokes
• Check roll feeds, sifter streams and stock levels regularly
• Report blockages, abnormal noises, vibration, or equipment faults immediately
• Assist the Miller with mill maintenance, and any spout changes required
• Ensure continues house keeping through cleaning chokes on the ground and  maintain a clean work environment.
• Follow HASSAP regulations and maintain food safety standards.
• Follow all plant safety procedures and lockout/tag out requirements.
• Wear PPE at all times
• Report unsafe conditions and near misses
• Participate in safety meetings, department meetings etc.

• Reduction of production losses and waste

 

 

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• One-year relevant experience in Milling/Production environment
• Health and Safety standards
• Computer Literacy
