Inside the Role
The Business Development Strategist will be responsible for identifying and developing strategic business opportunities, as well as building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to ensure Daimler Truck Remarketing achieves and maintains its position as a World Class Used Truck Business. This role is dealer/customer facing and will include delivering operational excellence in execution of job responsibilities with proven ability to deliver top performance and collaborate with teams through operations and projects to drive the business forward by utilizing data and analytics. The ideal candidate is an agent of change that demonstrates a strong understanding of LEAN management principles and CI culture, industry trends, innovation, customer-centric solutions, communication, world class culture, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to develop and execute comprehensive business strategies.Posting Information

What You Drive at DTNA
- Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities, industry trends, and competitive landscape. Analyze data to inform strategic decision-making.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement business development strategies and plans that align with the company's goals and objectives. Identify target markets, potential clients, and partnership opportunities.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers and business partners. Understand their needs and provide tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
- Business Development: drive key initiatives to achieve operational targets. Identify and pursue new operational opportunities, negotiate contracts, and close deals with business partners.
- Partnership Development: Identify and establish strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including industry associations, technology partners, and other relevant organizations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Sales & Distribution, Sales Support, and Operations teams, to ensure alignment and support for business development initiatives.
- Performance Metrics and Reporting: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and Operational Key Results (OKRs) to measure the effectiveness of business development strategies. Prepare regular reports for Executive Leadership.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends. Continuously seek opportunities to improve business development processes and strategies.
- Sales Program Administration: oversee all aspects pertaining to Operation’s administered sales programs (e.g. Sales Terms), establishing and executing program governance and processing program claims to drive financial performance.
Knowledge You Should Bring
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Business Administration or similar field and 5-7 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in business development, operations, or a related role.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
- Strong understanding of DTNA products and vehicle componentry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Business Intelligence software.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Exceptional Candidates Might Have
- MBA preferred
- Experience in commercial vehicle remarketing.
- Proven track record of achieving project targets and driving operational excellence.
- Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions.
