This position reports to the VP Finance/Executive Director Finance and position is responsible for the direction of the timely and accurate preparation of the financial statements for Mercy Ministry Office and all related entities (ROi, etc.) including internal and external financial reports. Seeks the support of all departments and services in maintaining strong fiscal controls and is responsible for overall fiduciary oversight and financial input into decisions made in these business/ministry units. Directs identification & analysis of opportunity to improve financial performance of various business units and ministries. The Director of Finance will provide daily supervision and staff development plans for direct reports. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.Position Details:
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field from an
accredited college or university.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience or a level of practical
experience necessary to enable efficient achievement of job
requirements with a minimum level of day-to-day supervision.
Other skills & knowledge:
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
- Strong communication skills, ability to interact with board level individuals and senior executives
- Computer literacy with intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Knowledge of proper financial statement formats and disclosures required under GAAP
- Ability to work with and preserve confidential information.
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED
Experience: Healthcare financial reporting experience preferred.
Certification/Registration: CPA Preferred
