LOB Description:

Individual will provide performance testing capabilities for complex applications. He/she will work with stakeholders on a daily basis to design test cases, create performance test scripts and execute performance scenarios. Works under the direction and with a Performance Lead. Writes technical performance test plans. Requires specialized Python programming skills. Develops data driven load test scripts using Citrix Protocol. Uses Load Runner (or JMeter) to design and execute load and performance tests. Lead the data creation activities for the required load tests. Designs and executes different types of load tests (load, failover, aging etc). Works closely with application development, architecture, infrastructure and production support groups for defect triage and production planning. Reports findings according to a defined process, such as sending an email. Participate in project/team meetings and actively contribute.

LOB Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute performance test scripts and workloads using LoadRunner/VuGen to validate application scalability and stability.
  • Perform load, stress, endurance, volume, and capacity testing for banking applications, APIs, and enterprise platforms.
  • Analyze performance results to identify bottlenecks across application, database, middleware, infrastructure, and network layers.
  • Use Dynatrace, Splunk, AppDynamics, Introscope, and AWR reports to monitor system behavior and diagnose performance issues.
  • Collaborate with Development, QA, Infrastructure, Architecture, and SRE teams to resolve performance concerns and support release readiness.
  • Develop SQL queries and automation scripts using Python, Java, or similar technologies to improve testing efficiency and analysis.
  • Support validation of Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and production performance expectations.
  • Assist with maintaining performance test environments, test data, dashboards, and reporting artifacts.
  • Contribute to AI-enabled testing, automation, observability, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Performance Engineering practice.
  • Build expertise in banking technology, distributed systems, cloud platforms, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) while progressing toward a senior engineering role.

Job Description:
This job is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities and functions for the assigned team. Key responsibilities include delegating work to team members, supervising work processes, providing informal leadership of sub teams or technology silos, managing on call and support schedules, and providing leadership, mentorship, and direction to team members. Job expectations include solving complex technical and analytical issues and effectively communicating results to senior management and Line of Business partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages and prioritizes multiple tasks and assignments for the team including tracking tasks and tickets in system(s) of record, ensuring enterprise service level agreements are met, and participating in defect, incident, problem, and change review meetings and release activities
  • Provides point of escalation for team members, peers, and partner teams, and shares the leadership Point of Contact for triage of high priority incidents or consulting engagements
  • Performs all responsibilities of team members from applicable teams
  • Works with appropriate teams to ensure alerts, monitoring, dashboards, and processes are established appropriately for new projects and initiatives
  • Participates and helps with resource interviews and onboarding processes
  • Performs access reviews, conducts compliance activities, and serves as a delegate for administrative processes
  • Creates the on call rotation schedule and ensures support for off hours, weekends, and release windows

Required Qualifications:

  • 2–5 years of experience in Performance Testing, Performance Engineering, Quality Engineering, Software Development, or a related technology discipline.
  • Hands-on experience using LoadRunner, including VuGen script development, test execution, workload modeling, and results analysis.
  • Strong understanding of Java, HTTP/HTTPS protocols, web applications, APIs, and distributed application architectures.
  • Experience with one or more programming or scripting languages such as Java, C#, Python, JavaScript, or Shell scripting.
  • Proficiency in SQL query development and database analysis.
  • Working knowledge of performance testing methodologies including Load, Stress, Volume, Endurance, and Scalability Testing.
  • Experience using monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, CA Wily Introscope, AppDynamics, Oracle AWR Reports, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of Splunk for log analysis and performance troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted engineering tools and automation techniques to improve test efficiency, reporting, and analysis.
  • Ability to analyze application and infrastructure metrics including CPU, memory, disk, network, JVM, and database performance.
  • Understanding of end-to-end application performance concepts and common performance bottlenecks across web, application, database, and infrastructure layers.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues within performance test environments, scripts, monitoring tools, and application components.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with development, QA, infrastructure, architecture, and business teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working in large enterprise or financial services environments.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Knowledge of container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and performance engineering best practices.
  • Experience supporting performance testing throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Knowledge of microservices, event-driven architectures, middleware, and API performance testing.
  • Familiarity with performance monitoring and observability concepts in production environments.
  • Strong desire to learn, grow, and advance within a Performance Engineering, SRE, or Technology Engineering organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
