Schedule: Saturday and Sunday | 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Position Overview

Citadel Security USA is seeking a professional Armed Security Officer for a weekend assignment in Glenwood Springs. This position is responsible for maintaining a secure environment by conducting routine patrols, assisting emergency response personnel when appropriate, and helping support the safety of employees, visitors, and individuals receiving services at the facility.
The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent judgment, remains calm under pressure, and can manage challenging situations with professionalism and respect.

Key Responsibilities

Security Patrol & Facility Protection

• Conduct scheduled interior and exterior patrols throughout the property.
• Monitor entrances, parking areas, and designated access points.
• Help maintain a safe, orderly, and secure environment for staff, visitors, and authorized occupants.
• Observe and report suspicious activity, unsafe conditions, or security concerns.
• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or other security-related incidents.

Emergency Support

• Assist emergency medical personnel and air transport crews during arrivals and departures when requested.
• Help maintain secure access routes during emergency vehicle or helicopter operations.
• Support first responders by helping manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic in designated areas.
• Follow established emergency response procedures while maintaining situational awareness.

Incident Response

• Use verbal de-escalation techniques to manage disruptive or emotionally charged situations whenever appropriate.
• Respond professionally to incidents involving combative or impaired individuals while following company policies and client procedures.
• Notify supervisors and emergency responders when additional assistance is required.
• Prepare accurate documentation for all significant incidents.

Documentation & Communication

• Complete detailed daily activity reports and incident reports.
• Maintain clear communication with supervisors, client representatives, and emergency personnel.
• Follow all site-specific post orders and operational procedures.
• Represent Citadel Security USA with professionalism during every interaction.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Personal firearm that complies with all applicable laws and company standards.
• Ability to satisfy all Colorado armed security licensing requirements before assignment.
• Reliable personal vehicle for transportation to and from the worksite.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in rapidly changing situations.
• Professional appearance and dependable attendance.
• Ability to successfully complete all required background screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous armed security, military, law enforcement, or corrections experience.
• Experience working in environments requires frequent interaction with emergency response personnel.
• Strong conflict resolution and verbal de-escalation skills.
• Experience writing detailed incident documentation.
• Comfortable working independently while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Work Environment

• Combination of indoor and outdoor assignments.
• Frequent walking patrols throughout the facility and surrounding grounds.
• Regular interaction with employees, visitors, emergency responders, and authorized personnel.
• Fast-paced environment requires alertness, professionalism, and sound judgment.
• Weekend daytime schedule with potential exposure to changing weather conditions during exterior patrols.
