Job Summary
The SOC Supervisor leads assigned shift operations for a Physical Security Operations Center, provides direct oversight of Security Specialists, and supports the Manager in maintaining a consistent, professional, and responsive security operation. This is not a cybersecurity or IT SOC role; the position focuses on physical security, alarm and video monitoring, access control support, critical incident escalation, workplace safety events, facility risks, operational readiness, report quality, personnel accountability, and stakeholder coordination. This role is on-site only and will be located at the Northeast SOC in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The Supervisor is expected to make sound decisions during security incidents, ensure timely communications, and drive continuous improvement across SOC processes and shift performance.Role Clarification :
This position supports physical and corporate security operations, not cybersecurity monitoring, network defense, threat hunting, vulnerability management, or IT incident response.
Work is performed on-site at the Northeast SOC in West Chester, PA; this is not a remote position.
Hours: Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm. Hours subject to change based on the needs of the business.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Lead assigned SOC shift operations and provide direction to on-duty Security Specialists.
- Supervise, coach, train, and support performance development for assigned team members.
- Conduct shift briefings, manage shift turnover, and maintain clear communication with leadership.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for security incidents and operational issues during assigned shifts.
Required Skills and Capabilities
- Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, incident management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to lead a shift-based security operations team in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
- Ability to work on-site in West Chester, PA and provide real-time leadership presence for shift operations.
- Knowledge of physical security operations, access control, video surveillance, alarm monitoring, incident reporting, and emergency response practices.
- Ability to assess incidents quickly, prioritize response actions, and escalate to appropriate leaders and partners.
- Strong report-writing, documentation review, quality assurance, and operational follow-up skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, professional judgment, and composure during critical or sensitive events.
Preferred Experience
- Previous supervisory, team lead, military leadership, law enforcement, emergency management, intelligence operations, or SOC leadership experience.
- Experience managing critical incidents and leadership-level communications.
- Experience with access control platforms, video management systems, alarm monitoring tools, and incident management systems.
- Coordinate response efforts for critical incidents including threats, crime, workplace violence, facility emergencies, natural disasters, and business continuity events.
- Monitor alarms, video, internal systems, external data sources, and news feeds for risks impacting personnel, facilities, assets, or operations.
- Focus on physical security events, facility risk, personnel safety, access control, video monitoring, alarm response, and emergency coordination rather than cybersecurity or IT systems monitoring.
- Support access control functions including badge support, access updates, remote access requests, and access control reporting.
- Review incident reports and notifications for accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and compliance with established procedures.
- Ensure timely security notifications, executive updates, and situational awareness reporting when escalation criteria are met.
- Coordinate with Corporate Security leadership, regional security teams, facility management, HR, Legal, technical teams, public safety partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain operational readiness of SOC platforms, monitoring tools, access control systems, video systems, and emergency communication resources.
- Track shift performance, staffing coverage, operational metrics, incident trends, and quality assurance findings.
- Identify process improvements and help implement changes that strengthen SOC operations, reporting, training, and incident management.
