The Senior Software Engineer II role is primarily responsible for the support of the existing software applications and enhanced software components deployed in the Cotiviti product suite. The successful candidate will be required to collaborate effectively with senior developers, offshore development team members, business owners, project management, and other internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and improvement of high-quality software modules for the Cotiviti product suite.
Analyze and resolve complex software related issues including identification of root causes originating from internal or external customers.
Champion comprehensive documentation of the specifications, design, features, and operation of applications prior to production roll out.
Demonstrate in-depth understanding of the primary discipline and a strong undertanding of related disciplines.
Design and implement solutions that significantly improve performance / availability.
Proactively communicate technical and operational issues to both engineering and business leadership in a timely manner, providing clear recommendations. Ensure that all technology standards are adhered to while developing systems, while also evaluating and recommending new standards for improved practices.
Explore new ideas and make innovative contributions to existing processes or systems which improve efficiency and results.
Identify and evaluate new technologies, recommending those that improve efficiency and results for integration into the Cotiviti product suite.
Execute all appropriate facets of the Cotiviti Software Development Lifecycle with a desire for continuous improvement.
Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering their growth and development within the team.
Complete all responsibilities as outlined in the annual performance review and/or goal setting.
Complete all special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- 5+ years of Java experience building large-scale, distributed web applications, preferably in a data-intensive domain like healthcare or financial services.
- Strong relational database skills, including a solid understanding of query optimization and execution plans.
- Experience designing and implementing systems using the Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS) pattern in large-scale, distributed environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences including engineers and business stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Linux and shell scripting.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a natural curiosity and a bias toward action.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Base compensation ranges from $134,000 to $165,000 per year. Specific offers are determined by various factors, such as experience, education, skills, certifications, and other business needs.
