Job Summary:
This role is responsible for enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the trade surveillance program through the application of data analytics, automation, quantitative techniques, and emerging technologies. The role leads initiatives to optimize surveillance workflows, strengthen alert calibration methodologies, develop data-driven surveillance capabilities, and support the implementation of next-generation surveillance systems.The incumbent will work closely with surveillance analysts, technology teams, data engineers, regulators, and business stakeholders to drive innovation, improve risk detection capabilities, and leverage advanced analytics to identify suspicious trading activities and market misconduct. The role also provides leadership in automation strategy, surveillance data management, reporting solutions, and operational transformation initiatives.
Job Duties:
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain data analytics to support the detection of market misconduct, unusual trading activities, and emerging market risks.
Perform quantitative analysis on trading data, surveillance alerts, and investigation outcomes to identify trends, patterns, and risk indicators.
Lead the calibration, validation, and optimization of surveillance scenarios, thresholds, and monitoring parameters.
Assess surveillance model performance and recommend enhancements based on market developments and business requirements.
Utilize historical trading data and statistical techniques to improve alert quality and reduce false positives.
Support the development and implementation of new surveillance alerts and analytical tools across cash and derivatives markets.
Identify and implement automation opportunities across surveillance operations, investigations, case management, and regulatory reporting.
Promote the use of AI and advanced analytical techniques where appropriate to support surveillance activities.
Design and maintain surveillance dashboards, management information reports, and performance metrics.
Collaborate with data scientist and technology teams to establish scalable data solutions.
Gather business requirements and translate surveillance needs into system capabilities and technical specifications.
Support user acceptance testing, system validation, and post-implementation reviews.
Job Requirements:
University degree in Computer Sciences, Data Science, Statistics, Information Technology or related disciplines.
Extensive experience in compliance analytics, quantitative analysis, or financial market technology.
Strong knowledge of securities and derivatives markets, market misconduct typologies, and regulatory requirements.
Hands-on experience with Python, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent analytics and visualization tools.
Experience in automation, workflow design, or AI-driven analytics is highly desirable.
Strong project management, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
