YCDS Full Time Preschool Teacher Aide

Job Description: 
York Country Day School is seeking a full-time Teacher Aide to join our well-established Early Childhood team. The Teacher Aide maintains and contributes to an exceptional learning environment for students aged 2 1/2 through 4 years.

The Teacher Aide participates fully in the life of the school, including collaborating with the team in a mission-driven environment.

Outcome: 
Looking for an experienced, highly qualified, and energetic teacher aide as an addition to the YCDS Lower School faculty for the 2026-2027 school year.


The Preschool Teacher aide will be responsible for working with students ages 2 1/2 to 4 years old.

The following are the responsibilities associated with this position:

• Assisting the lead teacher in maintaining a safe and clean classroom environment
• Giving individual and small group lessons as directed by the Lead Teacher
• Ensuring active supervision in the classroom and on playground
• Attending to the logistical aspects of the classroom and assisting the Lead Teacher
• Ensuring continuity of routines, activities, and behavioral standards in absence of the Lead Teacher
• Assisting with creating materials
• Supporting arrival and dismissal of students 

• High School diploma or higher; CDA or Associates Degree preferred
• 2 to 5 years of experience working with young children 
• Experience assisting in a classroom

• Support young children in their daily activities with kindness and patience
• Ability to carry out activities that promote early childhood development
• A collaborative mindset and commitment to professional growth and personal development
