Highlights:

Summary: The RN - Maternal Child Educator shall be responsible for the education of prospective parents and families through classes. This individual will prepare the pregnant woman, her partner, other family members, and/or friends for the labor, birth, and post partum experiences, as well as for the care of the newborn. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.
Education / Experience: Degree in Nursing, Bachelor's degree preferred. Expertise and/or certification in facet of women's health, obstetrical, or neonatal nursing education required. License / Certification: Active RN licensure required, BLS required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Good public relations skills
• Ability to plan and effectively conduct education activities
• Ability to conduct self in professional manner
• Ability to operate equipment used with childbirth education classes necessary
• Occasional travel between Montgomery Division facilities

Work Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 20 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 30 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
Ability to travel from one facility to another.
