Description
Assists lab analyst with essential functions including, but not limited to:
Develops, refines and documents testing procedures for inorganic and organic analysis. Coordinates laboratory procedures, quality assurance and quality control programs and testing to maintain lab certification for chemical and biological analysis. Prepares and reviews periodic reports and data required by regulatory agencies and requested my management. Train backup employees to preform lab tests. Boil alert testing and releasing alerts.
Collects and tests samples extracted from various points in the raw water system, water treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facilities and the distribution system. Performs various analyses for water, wastewater and sludge samples. (i.e. Phosphorus, Fluoride, Ammonia, Solids, Bacteria, BOD, etc. per OEPA regulations). Performs the Lead and Copper testing program on three water systems - contact customers, obtain samples, run tests and provide results to OEPA and customers.
Laboratory/Environmental reports and any other office related duties. Records all data in all pertinent information to spreadsheet reports; generates consumer confidence reports. Reviews and maintains data and records for the laboratory such as laboratory information system, chemical hygiene plan, safety data sheets for chemicals and laboratory manuals.
Maintains all lab equipment; maintains inventory of lab supplies; sterilizes equipment.
