We are currently seeking an agile Business Analyst II to join our Client Reporting Tax team. Acting as subject matter expert in client taxation, you will play a crucial role on executing strategic initiatives including enterprise-wide programs impacting tax reporting processes, leading the year-end tax reporting processes and defect reporting and resolution. You will be responsible for requirement activities on medium to large enhancements and projects, conducting business analysis with minimal guidance, collecting, and organizing data; articulating the Business needs into requirements. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, Operations, Trust Accounting, to analyze tax reporting data, identify optimization opportunities, and provide insightful recommendations to drive business growth and compliance with tax regulations.WHAT YOU WILL DO
Work collectively with the various stakeholders to implement initiatives such as First Home Savings Account and Records Retention
Collaborate with IT project teams and business units to collect, and translate business requirements into documentation
Instrumental in identifying deliverables, potential risks/issues and developing milestones and test plans for projects and enhancements
Responsible for user acceptance and regression testing during the product implementation process while ensuring product rules or enhancements meet user needs as documented in business requirements
Act as a subject matter expert, providing insights and resolving issues; pro-actively identify opportunities for improvements in both business processes resulting from ongoing support provided to the line of business
Effectively lead and influence meetings and group discussions with project team members and stakeholders to ensure collaboration on project deliverables
Lead Tax Year End Process and Issues Management
Prepare and host annual tax year end retrospectives
Responsible for managing and leading response to internal and external audit (CRA, MRQ, IRS), ensuring through, accurate, and timely response, with the goal of achieving a favorable resolution and minimizing potential penalties.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Minimum 1 year experience in a Business Analyst position
Expertise in Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, Retrospectives, or other Agile frameworks
Strong knowledge of User Acceptance testing (UAT); proven ability to create extensive test plans that confidently tests functionality being implemented against documented requirements
Excellent analytical capabilities are required along with a strong focus on attention to detail
Excellent organizational skills, capable of multitasking and the ability to deliver high quality work under pressure
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. You are to effectively communicate project status, and dependencies to stakeholders.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address issues and obstacles that may impede project progress. Proactive identification and resolution of project risks and impediments.
Strong knowledge/understanding of various systems (Microsoft, JIRA, eCISS, Compass, Tableau, RPM SSUI/AUI)
This role follows our in‑office work model and requires employees to be onsite four days per week to support collaboration and business needs.
This opportunity is for an existing vacancy with the company. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $55,000 to $95,000. Exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. Salary range may vary based on geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position may be eligible for participation in a bonus program.
