Description
- Monitor security alerts, logs, and system activity to identify potential threats or unusual behavior.
- Investigate security incidents and support incident response activities, including documentation and remediation.
- Conduct regular vulnerability scans and assist with patch management and risk mitigation efforts.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of security tools, including endpoint protection, SIEM, and identity management solutions.
- Assist in developing and updating security policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Partner with IT, compliance, and operational teams to ensure secure system configurations and adherence to security requirements.
- Participate in security awareness initiatives and provide guidance to employees on safe practices.
- Support audits, assessments, and regulatory compliance activities as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2–4 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or IT systems support.
- Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS Controls).
- Experience with SIEM tools, endpoint security, and vulnerability management solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical audiences.
- Security certifications such as Security+, CySA+, CEH, or similar.
- Experience in healthcare, compliance‑driven environments, or working with sensitive data.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles (Azure, AWS, or similar).
- This role is primarily sedentary, requiring the ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer.
- Occasional standing, walking, or lifting of items up to 10–20 pounds may be required.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to operate a keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
- Requires clear vision at close range and the ability to focus on detailed information.
- Ability to communicate clearly in person, over video, and by phone.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on business needs.
