In this senior-level role, the key requirement is strong capability in interior detailing, joinery, millwork, and FF&E coordination, supported by solid technical interior design documentation experience. Experience in hospitality, residential, hotel, serviced apartment, branded residence, or mixed-use environments would be highly valuable. You will lead and support the development of detailed living, hospitality, and mixed-use interior design packages, including guest rooms, suites, lobbies, lounges, amenities, front-of-house and back-of-house areas, residential units, custom joinery, cabinetry, feature walls, furniture elements, material transitions, construction interfaces, space planning, layouts, material and finishes coordination, and multidisciplinary coordination. You will translate brand, operational, guest experience, residential, commercial, and client requirements into clear, buildable, and coordinated design solutions that meet project standards, programme requirements, quality expectations, and client objectives.
You will work closely with project leads, architects, technical leads, MEP consultants, lighting designers, FF&E teams, signage consultants, cost teams, operators, brand representatives, and junior designers to produce coordinated, accurate, and technically robust deliverables suitable for design development, tender, construction, and site support stages. You will also provide guidance to less experienced team members and contribute to design quality, technical consistency, and continuous improvement across project delivery.
Role accountabilities:
- Lead the delivery of hospitality, residential, and mixed-use interior design projects from concept through construction.
- Prepare and coordinate technical documentation, including layouts, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and specifications.
- Develop and review detailed joinery, millwork, FF&E, and custom interior design packages.
- Translate client, brand, and operational requirements into practical, buildable design solutions.
- Coordinate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including Architecture, MEP, Lighting, FF&E, and specialist consultants.
- Ensure design quality, technical accuracy, code compliance, and project standards are met.
- Identify and resolve design, coordination, and technical issues to support successful project delivery.
- Lead design reviews, workshops, and client presentations where required.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development and knowledge sharing.
- Support continuous improvement of design processes, standards, QA/QC, and digital workflows.
- Collaborate effectively with regional and global teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Promote Arcadis’ values and maintain a strong commitment to health, safety, and wellbeing.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of professional experience in interior design, architecture, or technical design documentation.
- Proven experience delivering hospitality, residential, mixed-use, hotel, serviced apartment, commercial, or customer-facing interior projects.
- Strong expertise in interior detailing, joinery, millwork, and fit-out documentation.
- Experience with FF&E coordination, furniture detailing, materials, finishes, and specification packages is an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, accessibility, life safety, and multidisciplinary coordination principles.
- Experience producing interior elevations, sections, construction details, room data sheets, and schedules.
- Familiarity with SketchUp, Enscape, or similar visualization tools is desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail, quality control mindset, and ability to review technical deliverables.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and support projects across different stages and deadlines.
