About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Local Buyer to join our procurement team. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to manage local sourcing activities, ensuring timely procurement of goods and services at optimal costs. The role involves negotiating contracts, managing local demand plans, supporting compliance and audits, and contributing to process improvements and digitalization efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, market knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions to meet cost-saving targets and ensure supply continuity.

Key Responsibilities:1. Collaborate with internal stakeholders on local sourcing needs, providing consultative and tactical support.2. Secure contractual requirements with suppliers, ensuring back-to-back agreements and compliance.3. Work with Legal, Business Units, and Users to identify and mitigate procurement risks.4. Gather and analyze local market intelligence to inform purchasing decisions.5. Manage the local commodities demand plan and participate in the validation of procurement activities.6. Support local audits related to procurement processes and supplier compliance.7. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including process digitalization within the procurement function.8. Negotiate directly with suppliers and manage RFP processes to achieve cost savings and meet targets.

About you

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Skill/Qualification:Procurement & Negotiation Skills: Experience in local purchasing, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships.Stakeholder Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with internal teams, legal, and suppliers.Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of local market conditions and commodities relevant to the business.Contract & Risk Management: Experience in drafting, reviewing, and securing contractual agreements; risk mitigation skills.Demand Planning & Validation: Ability to manage local demand forecasts and validate procurement plans.Audit & Compliance: Familiarity with procurement compliance standards and audit processes.Process Improvement & Digitalization: Experience in streamlining procurement processes and supporting digital tools.Cost Savings & RFP Management    Proven track record of achieving savings through negotiations and structured RFP processes.Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.Educational Background    Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field; relevant certifications are a plus.

 

Preferred Qualifications:Experience working as a Local Buyer or in regional procurement roles.Knowledge of local supplier markets and commodities.Familiarity with procurement digital platforms and tools
