 Position Summary

The expectation of this position is to lead and direct a team to achieve pedigree farm objectives. Key responsibilities include maintaining farm infrastructure, scheduling farm bird move activities, maintaining genetic security and purity, fostering a culture of biosecurity, animal welfare, and safety, developing qualified and effective team members, communicating and collaborating on pedigree-related objectives, and producing selection reports.

Essential Functions

• Scheduling & organizing farm crew activities.
• Maintaining farm infrastructure.
• Maintain genetic security and purity.
• Promote and uphold a culture of biosecurity and animal welfare.
• Foster and maintain a strong culture of safety.
• Lead, develop, and maintain a team of qualified and effective team members.
• Communicate and collaborate on pedigree-related objectives with appropriate stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in the applicable field of expertise.

Leadership & Accountability

• Responsible for supervising a team consisting primarily of non-exempt team members.
• Mentor exempt team members and provide training to non-exempt team members.
• Monitor work quality and provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Contribute to team member compensation and pay-related decisions.
• Accountable for the quality of results produced by the team.

Computer Skills

• Proficiency in scheduling & organizational management using Microsoft Office applications is required.

Travel

• Minimal domestic travel required.

 

Work Environment & Requirements

Biosecurity

This position operates within a biosecure environment and requires strict adherence to established protocols, including:

• Showering before entering the facility and, when required, multiple times throughout the workday.
• Wearing company-provided clothing and footwear.
• Refraining from wearing jewelry on the job site, except for approved medical identification jewelry.
• Signing an agreement to avoid contact with avian species, including chickens, ducks, and other birds.
• Following the Company's Animal Welfare Policy at all times.
• Complying with all Cobb Farm and Hatchery Biosecurity Standards.

Physical Requirements

• Must use safe lifting techniques at all times.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk, and hear.
• Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• When visiting facilities, team members must follow all required safety procedures and wear the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Internal Management & Management Support Applicants:
