Interim Head of Service – All Age Commissioning
3–4-month contract | Start ASAP
£550 per day
Inside IR35 (via umbrella)
Hybrid working (1–2 days on site)

This is a high‑impact opportunity to step into a pivotal leadership role at a critical moment of transition. As Interim Head of Service – All Age Commissioning, you will provide visible, confident leadership following the resignation of the substantive postholder, ensuring continuity, stability and momentum across a recently restructured commissioning function.
Reporting into a senior leadership team that values autonomy and trust, you will be trusted to bring clarity, pace and structure. You will be supporting established teams who are building confidence, embedding new ways of working and looking for clear direction. This is a role where your presence, judgement and delivery focus will make an immediate difference.
You will balance strategic oversight with hands‑on leadership, maintaining grip on priorities while progressing key programmes such as supported living and commissioning frameworks. Your role as Interim Head of Service – All Age Commissioning:
• Lead and stabilise all‑age commissioning services during a period of change
• Maintain continuity of service delivery and performance across the function
• Drive key programmes, including supported living and commissioning frameworks
• Support and develop teams, building confidence and accountability post‑restructure
• Provide assurance through clear prioritisation, grip and delivery focus
Your experience as Interim Head of Service – All Age Commissioning:
• Extensive leadership experience within adult social care commissioning
• Strong understanding of all‑age commissioning models and frameworks
• Proven track record of leading teams through transition and organisational change
• Ability to establish credibility quickly with senior stakeholders and partners
• Practical, delivery‑focused leadership style with pace and clarity
