Electrical Engineer
Duration: 12 month minimum contract
Location: Milan, Italy
Start Date: ASAP
We’re looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team and play a key role across the full lifecycle of industrial power systems — from concept design through to commissioning and ongoing performance.
This is an opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects where you’ll have real ownership, not just a narrow scope.
The role
You’ll be responsible for reviewing and shaping electrical designs across LV, MV, and HV systems, ensuring they are robust, compliant, and fit for purpose.
You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to key technical decisions, and stay involved through execution, commissioning, and operational support.
What you’ll be doing
- Reviewing electrical designs including SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, and layouts.
- Evaluating and approving equipment such as switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS, and motors.
- Carrying out and reviewing system studies (load flow, short circuit, arc flash, protection coordination).
- Collaborating with procurement, vendors, and construction teams to ensure smooth delivery.
- Supporting installation, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and on-site troubleshooting.
- Providing technical support to operations and contributing to performance improvements.
- Supporting reliability, asset integrity, and lifecycle optimisation.
What we’re looking for
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar).
- 5+ years’ experience in industrial electrical engineering.
- Strong understanding of power system design and analysis.
- Experience working in complex or hazardous environments.
- Familiarity with tools such as ETAP, SKM, or DIgSILENT.
- Solid knowledge of protection systems, earthing, and electrical infrastructure.
- A proactive, collaborative approach with strong communication skills.
