Children's Placements and Quality Assurance Manager

Following increased investment and internal changes WBC are seeking an experienced Children Placement & Quality Assurance Manager for 3 months whilst a permanent appointment is made. We’re a small but busy Childrens Team and we need someone to hit the ground running and quickly build relationship with social worker and managers, providers, partners and staff in children services and the wider council. We’re also working to integrate Independent Non-Maintained Special School placements into the team and would welcome candidates with either experience or ideas about how that could be achieved.

 

The role will have a number of key objectives including:

 

• Helping Establish a new Children Placement Commissioning functions, including , supplier relationships, brokerage, contract management and quality assurance
• Develop am operational model to meet SEND placement needs
• Develop a placement Quality Assurance framework across Childrens Social Care and SEND placements
• Support the development of sufficiency strategies
• Support the Strategic Placement board in developing in insight into placement usage, cost and impact for children
• Establishing reporting mechanisms and a clear information led approach to the work of the team
• It is essential that candidates have Children’s placement experience.
