Saint Alphonsus Medical Group (SAMG) is a physician led and accountable 800+ provider multispecialty group seeking an outpatient Pulmonary Advanced Practice Provider to join its Pulmonary clinic in Nampa, Idaho. In collaboration with board-certified Pulmonary physicians, the nurse practitioner (NP) or physician assistant (PA) provides independent high-level advanced practice services to patients within the outpatient clinic. Common conditions treated include COPD and asthma. Clinical responsibilities include triage, assessment, consultation, treatment, education, and management of patients following initial evaluation by the physician. The provider will ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Specific duties include but are not limited to the following: conduct follow-up evaluations for patients referred for Pulmonary consultation; follow-through on physician's plan of care; order & interpret appropriate diagnostic testing including pulmonary function studies, chest imaging and labs; prescribe appropriate treatment including oxygen, antibiotics and steroid treatments; conduct patient education and smoking cessation counseling; provide assistance in clinic phone triage and referral triage; assist in prescription refills and general clinic coverage when other providers are not in clinic.
The qualified Advanced Practice Provider will show evidence of comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical skills and problem-solving abilities and commit to a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient care. Candidates would ideally have prior critical care, acute care, or pulmonary experience.
Requirements:
- Successful completion of NP or PA Graduate Program (Masters Level)
- AANP or ANCC certification for Nurse Practitioners
- NCCPA certification for Physician Assistants
- Current, unrestricted license in Idaho
- Valid controlled substance registration with the Idaho Board of Pharmacy and DEA
- 2 years of experience in Pulmonary or Acute Care Medicine preferred, not required
