Description

Eaton Corporation is hiring for a Director, Program Management – Capacity position. This role is based at Eaton’s Beachwood OH or Moon Township PA location. 50 percent travel is anticipated.

The Director, Program Management serves as a key leader within the Capacity Expansion organization, responsible for driving the successful execution of strategic growth initiatives, manufacturing capacity expansions, major business investment programs, and functional excellence programs. This role leads a team of Program Managers and provides governance, structure, and cross-functional coordination to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives. The Director acts as the central integrator across Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Finance, IT, HR, Legal, and Real Estate to ensure seamless planning, risk management, and execution.

## Job Responsibilities:

Program Leadership & Governance

  • Lead a team of Program Managers responsible for strategic growth, capacity expansion, business-critical initiatives, and functional excellence programs.
  • Establish and maintain program governance, stage-gate processes, executive reviews, and launch readiness assessments.
  • Develop and oversee centralized portfolio management practices to ensure alignment with business priorities, resource availability, and escalation of key program issues to facilitate support needed to eliminate roadblocks.
  • Define program success metrics and ensure accountability for delivery against scope, cost, schedule, and quality objectives.

Strategic Program Execution

  • Lead planning and execution of large-scale manufacturing expansion, industrialization, and operational readiness programs.
  • Develop integrated master project plans, schedules, milestones, and communication strategies.
  • Manage program interdependencies across Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Finance, IT, HR, Legal, and Real Estate.
  • Ensure all stakeholders remain aligned on priorities, risks, decisions, and execution plans.

Cross-Functional Integration

  • Drive coordination across functional workstreams to ensure readiness for facility startups, equipment installation, manufacturing ramp-up, and operational launch.
  • Facilitate decision-making and issue resolution among senior leaders and project teams.
  • Champion collaboration and transparency across multiple business units and regions.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Establish processes for proactive identification, escalation, and mitigation of program risks and issues.
  • Lead contingency planning and scenario analysis to address potential schedule, budget, supply chain, or operational challenges.
  • Ensure risks, assumptions, dependencies, and key decisions are documented and actively managed.

Resource & Financial Management

  • Partner with Finance and functional leaders to develop resource plans, investment strategies, program budgets, and regular updates to the program financial model as assumptions and actuals change.
  • Monitor capital spending, forecast program costs, and ensure alignment with approved business cases.
  • Optimize resource allocation across multiple concurrent initiatives.

Change Management & Communications

  • Lead organizational change management efforts to support adoption of new processes, systems, and operating models.
  • Develop executive communications, progress reports, and leadership presentations.
  • Ensure stakeholders at all levels understand program objectives, timelines, and readiness requirements.
  • Establish and execute a change control process to manage customer expectations on design, timing, and cost and coordinate that process with key functional leaders.

## Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Program Management, or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of progressive leadership experience managing large-scale programs, capital investments, manufacturing expansions, or strategic business initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional programs with executive-level visibility.
  • Experience in program and portfolio management including the PROLaunch processes, stage-gate governance and risk and issue management.
  • Experience in organizational change management and capital project execution.
  • Experience leading greenfield and plant expansion projects.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $182000 - $266000 a year. This role is also eligible for a variable incentive program.
