Description

The incumbent will be responsible for managing Tender and Tariff activities, including maintenance and benchmarking of LCL ocean freight rates, transshipment tariffs, RFQ tenders, and spot quotations to ensure pricing competitiveness. He or she will analyze trade lane performance using import/export statistics and BI tools to support pricing strategy and commercial focus, while coordinating with internal stakeholders and overseas offices on rate alignment, rebate management, P&L reconciliation, dispute resolution, and continuous process improvement.


Key Responsibilities

Tender & Tariff Management
- Monthly maintenance of 1st Leg Ocean Freight (LCL) rates for FOB shipments. - Bi-weekly maintenance and calculation of LCL (freehand) transshipment tariffs sent to overseas offices.
- Benchmarked transshipment tariffs to ensure competitiveness.
- Participation and management of RFQ tenders and adjustment of rate agreements.
- Quoting spot rate.
- Promote STI SIN position as the preferred gateway to STI offices and WWA members.
- Support to develop and implement pricing strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability.
- Analyse market data, customer behaviour, and competitor pricing to inform pricing decisions.

Data, Analysis & Market Evaluation
- Updating, monitoring, and reviewing import/export statistics.
- Conducting statistical analyses to identify strong and weak trade lanes utilizing Excel pivot tables and Power BI reports to support strategic focus and investment.
- Support to manage pricing processes, including data analysis and reporting.
- Identify opportunities for pricing optimisation and automation and implement changes.

Communication & Relationship Management
- Collaborated with internal and external stakeholders for competitive rates.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders; sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure pricing alignment.
- Built and maintained stakeholder relationships to drive volume growth.


Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintenance of rebate agreements with overseas offices.
- Verification and reconciliation of PNL statement.
- Resolution and settlement of rate disputes.

Process, Workflow & Department Leadership 
- Periodic review and enhancement of workflows and SOPs identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Diploma / degree in Shipping or equivalent
  • Possess PC operational knowledge along with MS Office applications experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Preferably with 1 year similar experience in the Ocean / Air freight industries·    
  • Basic knowledgeable in NVOCC business will be an added advantage
