Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive service sales processes, generate service sales opportunities and secure profitable sales within the designated areas. Each day, you will focus on Installed Base (IB) penetration and selling the entire Service product portfolio. You will also showcase your expertise by building long-term customer relationships and ensuring immediate response to specific customer needs and issues.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Services Business in Malaysia. This is a remote working role, with a focus on managing and growing our customer base in Southern/Johor region.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Penetrating existing ABB and competitor install base, leveraging tools and install base database and using existing market network to generate new service leads for upgrades, retrofits, maintenance and value-add solutions for MV and LV distributions systems and products for the benefit of the customers and ABB.
• Developing a customer base in the geography assigned, build the relationship and establish a sales strategy to grow the customer share of wallet. Provide feedback to relevant stakeholders on support needed to grow the business (product support, marketing support, pricing, etc).
• Preparing a yearly commercial plan with clear actions to meet assigned order targets, submit monthly sales forecasts, propose and execute recovery plan(s) when needed.
• Supporting the promotion and marketing of ABB’s service products and solutions during marketing activities (campaigns, trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences, customer meetings).

Qualifications for the role

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with knowledge of electrical power distribution systems.
• Minimum 5-8 years of experience involving Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) switchgear and protection relays, gained through Sales, Service, Project Management, or Field Service roles.
• Experience supporting customers in Data Center, Industries segment while having Oil & Gas, Utilities, Manufacturing sectors will be a plus.
• Strong customer-facing and business development capabilities, with the confidence to engage existing and new customers, identify opportunities and generate service sales leads.
• Established network and customer relationships within Southern Region Malaysia, particularly in the Industries/Data Center sectors.
• Able to work independently and travel extensively across Southern Region Malaysia (>50%). Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
