THE POSITION

Reporting to the Area Manager, Maintenance, the Field Measurement Coordinator works across field operations, maintenance, measurement, engineering, quality, environmental, and business teams to resolve complex measurement issues, strengthen measurement governance, and protect the integrity of operational, regulatory, and commercial data.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Collect, review, validate, and approve facility measurement records and data for daily checks, month-end close, reconciliation, reporting, and audits.
  • Check measurement results, balances, proving and calibration records, samples, exceptions, and validation failures for assigned terminal and pipeline assets.
  • Track meter factors, investigate imbalances, failures, recurring issues, and missing data, and coordinate corrective action.
  • Keep measurement data accurate and consistent across maintenance, measurement, field data, control, flow computer, schematic, operational, and reporting systems.
  • Review completed preventive maintenance and work orders to confirm all records, uploads, exception reviews, and reconciliations are complete before closeout.
  • Maintain accurate schematics, procedures, checklists, inspection, calibration, proving, composition, and reporting records for operational, regulatory, contractual, and audit needs.
  • Coordinate assigned Enhanced Production Audit Program (EPAP) work, including gathering data, reviewing controls, preparing for audits, identifying gaps, tracking corrective actions, and supporting regulatory submissions and inquiries.
  • Support compliance with Measurement Canada, API MPMS, AER Directives 017 and 060, EPAP, environmental requirements, and internal standards by keeping clear records and reporting gaps.
  • Provide measurement input for design and Management of Change reviews, pre-startup safety reviews, commissioning, configuration checks, equipment handover, and operational readiness.
  • Validate facility leak detection measurement points and data, and work with the Leak Detection program owner on data quality, compliance, and system performance.
  • Work with internal teams, customers, producers, laboratories, and third-party providers.
  • Escalate unresolved data issues, workflow failures, audit risks, compliance concerns, and recurring measurement problems.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Instrumentation Mechanic certification or an Instrumentation Engineering Technology diploma.
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience in custody transfer measurement, instrumentation, measurement analysis, meter proving, production measurement, or compliance.
  • Advanced knowledge of liquid hydrocarbon custody transfer measurement, proving, calibration, sampling, analyzers, density measurement, flow computers, control systems, electronic flow measurement systems, and field instruments.
  • Working knowledge of Measurement Canada requirements, API MPMS, AER Directives 017 and 060, EPAP, environmental reporting requirements, and related standards.
  • Experience reviewing measurement data, finding issues, investigating imbalances and data-quality problems, and coordinating corrective action.
  • Ability to read piping and instrumentation diagrams, measurement schematics, meter and proving reports, instrument data, and technical documents.
  • Knowledge of maintenance, measurement, data historian, calibration, schematic, field data, and reporting systems. Experience with similar industry systems is an asset.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, prioritization, and coordination skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly.
  • Experience with advanced spreadsheets, data trends, visualization, or business intelligence tools is an asset.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal teams, customers, producers, laboratories, and third-party service providers.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract.
  • This role is subject pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol testing and ongoing compliance with the company’s Drug and Alcohol Policy.
