Job Description

About the Department

The Technology and Operations function is comprised of five teams of specialists with distinct capabilities: business partnership, technology, operations, risk governance and planning support and services. We work closely together to harness the power of technology to support our physical and digital banking services and operations. This includes developing, centralising and standardising technology systems as well as banking operations in Singapore and overseas branches.


Overview of the Role

The candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing multiple operational control units to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely execution of critical processes. This role ensures segregation of duties, drives governance, and provides strategic oversight across customer information handling, investigations, reconciliation, reporting, and data analytics. The individual will also be expected to engage effectively with senior business leaders and stakeholders across the franchise.


Job Responsibilities

Customer Information & Investigation Unit

  • Handle requests from competent authorities regarding individual customer accounts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform name screening against internal systems (BWC, RBK, VSV) and prepare official response letters.
  • Manage updates to watch lists (Blacklist, MAS643, HR Watch List) and process name screening requests.
  • Update alert information in BWCIF (add, amend, delete) via AS400 system.
  • Act as the central party for processing incident reports from Operation Centers into the GRC system within SLA.

Data Analytics

  • Maintain and enhance SQL queries and dashboards to support management decision-making.
  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to identify data requirements and implement reporting solutions.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy for operational and regulatory reporting.

Record Management

  • Process requests for extraction of historical data (e-statements, Documentum) from branches and stakeholders.
  • Act as the central custodian for all record access requests, ensuring compliance with SLA and governance standards.

Reconciliation & Investigation Unit

  • Independently perform daily and monthly GL reconciliations for accounts under Retail Ops Center.
  • Investigate and resolve unreconciled items, outages, and mismatches; escalate per escalation matrix.
  • Communicate with account owners to determine root causes and next steps.
  • Document reconciliation status, actions, and ownership; track for timely closure.
  • Coordinate with Finance teams to assess risk exposure and ensure proper approvals for adjustments.

Retail Reporting Unit

  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory reports to report owners.
  • Provide accurate data for AML Cash Transaction Reports (CTR) and Domestic Fund Transfer Reports (DWT), CIC reports
  • Prepare periodic statistical reports for regulators (e.g., Circular 11/2018/TT-NHNN) and coordinate with internal teams for data collection.
  • Escalate reporting issues promptly and resolve data/system discrepancies.

 

Job Requirements

The suitable candidates are expected to have following background, experience, skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Banking & Financial industry
  • 10+ years in operations industry with a deep understanding Card and Unsecured Lending Operations at execution level.
  • Operation SME in retail card and loan products and support systems.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Vietnamese                               
  • A natural leader: someone who can partner with cross-franchise teams and external partners to lead a high performing team.

  • Ability to influence others and obtain buy-in for projects.
