Straz Center's Patel Conservatory Space and Equipment Lead Coordinator provides operational support for Education Department classes and events. This position starts early in the afternoon and works into the evening. Hours include evenings and Saturdays.

Essential Functions:
- Assists with space and equipment needs for all classes and summer camps (fall, spring, and summer session classes; summer camps; and summer intensives), as well as Patel Conservatory productions and special events.
- Assists in creating, maintaining, and communicating daily and weekly operational schedules.
- Coordinates classroom, rehearsal, and performance space readiness to support educational programming and events.
- Works closely with Conservatory Production to support the planning, coordination, and execution of performances as required.
- In coordination with Conservatory Production, maintains inventory of classroom supplies, equipment, and instructional materials.
- Assists with the setup, breakdown, and transportation of equipment and supplies for classes, performances, and special events.
- Assists with student escorting and pick-up/drop-off procedures as requested.
- Communicates scheduling updates, room changes, and operational information to appropriate faculty and staff.
- Maintains accurate records related to equipment inventory, space utilization, and operational activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Conservatory is open for more than 40 hours in a given week therefore this position will act as the lead in the department when the department manager is not present acting as the party responsible with decision making authority and directing the work of part-time coordinators - otherwise reporting to the manager.
Education and Work Experience:
- High school diploma preferred.
- Experience with theater equipment is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency using the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently in a multi-task environment as a dynamic and supportive team member.
- Flexible schedule and available to work nights and weekends.
- Must be able to pass a Level 2 background check.

- Ability to move event materials or theatrical equipment weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Work regularly requires traversing and ascending/descending; approximately 50% of performance facility is reachable only by stairs or ladder.
- Ability to identify and communicate audiovisual difficulties occurring during events/productions.
- Some work may be completed in low-light areas and/or areas of restricted access.
- May operate electrical or sound equipment.
- Position occasionally requires work in areas where hazardous materials (e.g., spray paint or cleansers) are present.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be stationary and communicate using a telephone.
- The nature of this job requires the employee to work on-site as a regular work routine. Most often, on-site work is required daily.
