The Opportunity
Our FinTech enterprise learning client has outgrown its content operations. Course and module data for a large course catalog lives across an internal (custom) content management system (CMS), the Docebo learning management system (LMS), and a set of spreadsheets — and none of them is the confirmed source of truth. Much of the existing content is outdated, since the underlying subject matter (tax law and business process) changes constantly.
You'll be the hands-on operator who fixes that: auditing and de-duplicating the content catalog, closing the gap between the CMS and the LMS while a permanent automated sync is being built, and tagging content to the organization's new skills taxonomy. You'll work alongside a Skills Taxonomy & Certification Gating Lead who owns the taxonomy itself and the sync architecture and the content audit and governance program; you own execution, including the day-to-day running of performance-based gating pilots (assessment gates and nesting). This is active, in-progress work with real near-term deadlines (below), not a theoretical project.
Note: Basic day-to-day Docebo/LMS helpdesk administration (ticket queue, user provisioning) is a separate, already-staffed role and is explicitly not part of this one.
What You'll Do
- Content audit — Inventory and de-duplicate content across the CMS, the LMS, and spreadsheets — flagging what's outdated, duplicate, or broken (last-updated/last-accessed signals, enrollment and completion data, compliance status). Work toward a single deduplicated inventory.
- Content governance execution — Help stand up and then run the day-to-day process that keeps content current going forward, so this doesn't become a one-time cleanup. Support the "CMS-first" rule in practice — nothing changes in the LMS without changing in the CMS first — and keep records tagged with the correct business unit so they're findable in search.
- Skills mapping — Tag courses and learning plans to the skills taxonomy at the module level. Only part of the catalog carries a skill tag today, and you'll be the one moving that coverage forward. The goal is for active courses to be mapped to the skills taxonomy by January 31, 2027.
- CMS–LMS data parity — Reconcile course and module records between the CMS and the LMS wherever the automated sync doesn't yet cover it — catching mismatches and correcting records by hand so the CMS stays the real source of truth in the meantime.
- Course durations — Keep course and module durations current, since other teams use them for staffing plans.
- Skill-intake queue triage — Review and triage the queue of newly proposed skills surfaced by the taxonomy tool, routing each to the right subject-matter expert for validation before anything reaches the governed taxonomy.
- Compliance & reporting support — Support compliance audits for continuing-education content (aligned to bodies like NASBA/IRS) and help unblock downstream reporting — broken module links, assignment, and skill reporting, which cascades into assessment gating and personalized learning paths.
- Performance-based gating pilot operations — Run the operational side of gating pilots in contact-center roles (gating means each expert must pass a skills assessment, and then either a nesting period or a performance simulation, before working unsupervised). Coordinate with operations leaders and subject matter experts, track assessment and nesting cohorts (nesting is a period where new hires handle live work under extra coaching and support before being signed off), collect quality and first-resolution data, and report results to the gating lead and data science partners so each experiment can be evaluated.
Why This Matters Right Now
- Live pressure — Tax season broadly, and specifically a learner-upskilling push for one tax specialist population that needs to land before the January peak.
- Targets on the board — A deduplicated Docebo inventory (which you'll maintain once you start), a published content governance policy by November 30, a fully governed content pipeline by January 31, and finance-approved designs for performance-based gating experiments by the end of January. A recent pilot on one content area showed that most course and module records already match cleanly across the agenda, CMS, and LMS — this role closes the remaining gap and keeps it closed.
What You Bring
- Hands-on administration experience with an enterprise LMS (Docebo or similar) and/or a content/learning management system. Content and catalog administration is what matters here. Day-to-day helpdesk work (ticket queue, user provisioning) is not part of this role.
- Experience tagging content to a skills or competency taxonomy.
- Contact center operations experience paired with learning and development experience (for example quality, coaching, nesting, or workforce planning alongside training design).
- Jira or similar ticket-queue experience.
- Comfortable defining success metrics and supporting pilots or A/B tests with analytics or data science partners.
- Familiarity with continuing-education compliance requirements (NASBA, IRS) or a similarly regulated content environment.
- Comfortable with high-volume, detail-heavy reconciliation work — comparing two systems, catching discrepancies, and fixing them accurately at scale.
- Experience with content audits, catalog cleanup, or data-quality projects.
- Strong, clear documentation habits — you'll be creating a record other people rely on.
Why This Role?
- Fast, visible impact — The catalog cleanup and sync work has hard, trackable numbers — coverage percentages, hours recaptured, courses archived — so progress is visible quickly.
- Clear growth path — This is the natural next step toward the kind of ownership the Skills Taxonomy & Certification Gating Lead role has.
- Long-term partnership — CapeTalent keeps contractors on engagements for years, not months. We advocate for you and adjust when the work changes.
