Overview
160over90 is seeking an Account Manager to join our San Francisco team, helping bring our Client’s sports partnerships to life through creative, differentiated marketing opportunities for its clients.
This role sits at the intersection of client marketing, partnership activation and creative problem-solving. Working across a portfolio of premier sports partnerships, including FIFA, the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and World Rugby, the Account Manager will help translate existing sponsorship rights and assets into compelling programs tailored to the audiences and business objectives of the client’s North American business partners.
We're looking for someone who sees opportunity within a defined set of assets and constraints. Someone who can take partnership benefits and find fresh, relevant ways to activate them across multiple clients, making each program feel distinctive.
The ideal candidate combines strong account management fundamentals with a creative mindset, entrepreneurial spirit and a curiosity for what's happening across sports, culture and marketing.
Working closely with the client’s marketing and sponsorship teams as well as integrated agency specialists and global partnership teams, this individual will play an important role in maximizing the value and impact of the client’s partnership portfolio.
Responsibilities
Account Management & Program Delivery
- Serve as day-to-day agency partner to client marketing and sponsorship stakeholders, building strong relationships and a deep understanding of their business priorities.
- Manage multiple client activation workstreams simultaneously, overseeing project timelines, deliverables, budgets, approvals and cross-functional coordination.
- Develop a strong working knowledge of the client’s partnership portfolio, including available rights, assets, promotional guidelines and activation parameters.
- Work closely with internal partnership specialists and global teams to navigate asset availability, approvals and operational requirements.
- Coordinate the development and delivery of client programs, ensuring work is executed efficiently, accurately and to a high standard.
- Develop and maintain client-facing materials, including activation plans, presentations, status updates, executive summaries, competitive landscape assessments and post-program reporting.
- Support event and tournament-time activation delivery, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
Strategic Thinking & Problem-Solving
- Bring a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to client challenges, identifying creative ways to maximize impact within available assets, budgets and resources.
- Look beyond conventional sponsorship activations to uncover new opportunities that connect the partnership with client objectives.
- Anticipate client needs and proactively bring forward relevant ideas, insights and recommendations.
- Navigate ambiguity and evolving priorities with resourcefulness, sound judgment and a willingness to challenge conventional thinking.
- Connect the right people, capabilities and resources across the agency to help move ideas from concept through successful execution.
Qualifications
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in account management, integrated marketing, partnership activation, or client marketing, ideally within an agency or brand environment.
- Demonstrated ability to translate client objectives and marketing assets into creative, activation ideas and programs.
- Strong creative instincts, intellectual curiosity and a passion for developing ideas that connect brands with audiences in meaningful ways.
- Entrepreneurial, resourceful approach to problem-solving, with the ability to navigate challenges.
- Strong account management and project management skills, with experience managing multiple workstreams, timelines and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing and presenting compelling client recommendations and materials.
- Understanding of integrated marketing and how experiential, content, social, talent and other channels can work together to deliver cohesive programs.
- Ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively across client teams, internal agency disciplines and global stakeholders.
- Familiarity with sports sponsorships, partnership rights, promotional guidelines and activation processes is strongly preferred.
