About the Role
As a System Administrator at Hyland, you'll play an important hands-on role in assisting with the implementation, monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our IT infrastructure. You'll work alongside experienced team members in a collaborative, supportive environment — building your skills, applying best practices, and contributing directly to the stability and efficiency of the systems that keep Hyland running. Your Role Responsibilities – Here's What You'll Do
- Respond to and resolve system-related requests in a timely manner; troubleshoot issues with oversight from team members, applying basic best practice knowledge and strong problem-solving skills to drive effective resolution.
- Create and execute projects involving installations, upgrades, and modernization of servers and systems; identify where proposals for purchasing new technology are needed to support infrastructure growth and efficiency.
- Provide support for infrastructure systems including server maintenance, storage, networking, database administration, network security, messaging, directory services, server virtualization, and monitoring.
- Assist with audits of servers and the environment to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines; participate in the maintenance, testing, and execution of the disaster recovery plan.
- Compose internal documentation with oversight from team members that accurately reflects processes and system configurations; consistently contribute ideas to improve internal efficiencies.
- Stay current with best practices and market trends; self-manage projects to completion while collaborating effectively with team members and supporting the organization's broader infrastructure goals.
Role Essentials
You'll need these skills to hit the ground running:
- Experience in systems administration with hands-on experience in Microsoft Windows network environments, including Microsoft Active Directory, and familiarity with virtualization technology.
- Knowledge of Dell, IBM, Cisco, and/or HP server hardware, with the ability to support server maintenance, storage, networking, and related infrastructure systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail; demonstrated ability to verify all work thoroughly to ensure accuracy and resolve issues effectively with team oversight.
- Ability to communicate with ease, clarity, and impact using a style appropriate to the subject and audience; demonstrated ability to write concise, logical, and grammatically correct documentation.
- Strong customer service orientation with solid collaborative skills; self-motivated with the ability to manage projects to completion and the flexibility to work outside of normal business hours including evenings and weekends as needed.

- Experience supporting infrastructure systems such as storage, networking, database administration, network security, messaging, directory services, and server virtualization in a production environment.
- Experience participating in disaster recovery plan maintenance, testing, and execution in an enterprise or mid-market IT environment.
- Experience assisting with server and environment audits to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for internal efficiency improvements and a proactive approach to staying current with best practices and emerging market trends in IT infrastructure.
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the principal duties of the role.
