Who we are

We are Ordnance Survey, Great Britain’s national mapping service and a pioneer in geospatial technology. With over 230 years of trusted data, we empower better decisions, deeper understanding, and meaningful connections to the places we live, move through, and care for.

About the role

We are looking for a talented Product Manager to lead the performance, evolution, and strategic direction of our product portfolio. If you’re passionate about turning customer needs and market opportunities into impactful products, we’d love to hear from you.

As a Product Manager at OS, you will be responsible for managing the business performance and lifecycle of both new and existing products. You’ll lead the development of our product roadmap—balancing market demand, technical feasibility and affordability—and ensure that our products continue to deliver meaningful value to customers, partners, and stakeholders.

You will act as the central point of expertise for all product value propositions, championing product understanding across the organisation and ensuring OS remains customer‑centric in everything we deliver.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage product performance across a portfolio of existing and new products, ensuring alignment with OS’s strategic goals.
  • Own the product value propositions, lifecycle plans, and product roadmap, balancing market, technical, and financial considerations.
  • Champion product understanding by acting as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and ensuring clarity on product value.
  • Support customer‑centric delivery of product propositions, working closely with marketing and communications teams to keep customers engaged and informed.
  • Lead product performance reviews, using scorecards and KPIs to make evidence‑based decisions about product development, enhancements, or withdrawal.
  • Engage with user communities, key customers, partners, and external stakeholders, ensuring feedback is captured and translated into product improvements or requirement updates.
  • Develop strong relationships with operational teams, customer‑facing colleagues, and external partners to deliver the roadmap in line with service, cost, and revenue targets.
  • Lead and manage a team, where required, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and customer focus.

About You

You will be a proactive, strategic thinker with experience managing product performance or roadmaps in a customer-focused environment. Skilled in stakeholder engagement and confident using data to inform decisions, you will balance commercial, technical and user needs to deliver products that make a real difference. Knowledge of the UK address ecosystem is not essential, but it would be a strong advantage, as would an understanding of current OS Address products, customers and use cases.

How to Apply

  • Please apply with your CV and a Cover letter outlining why you have applied and how your skills and experience make you a good fit for the role

The Rewards

We want you to love what you do and feel supported to do your best work.

Our benefits include:

  • Competitive salary and pension (OS contribute up to 12.07%)
  • Performance‑related bonus (where applicable)
  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays (increasing with service)
  • Enhanced family leave, including paid partner leave
  • Hybrid and flexible working options
  • Learning and development support, coaching and mentoring
  • Free subscription to OS Maps and access to wellbeing support
  • Volunteering leave and matched fundraising

Location & working pattern

We embrace a hybrid working model at OS, because we believe in flexibility and balance.  You’ll be based at our fantastic HQ in Southampton, where you'll be expected to spend 50% of your time working and collaborating face-to-face with colleagues.

Security

OS conducts pre-employment checks for anyone made an offer of employment, including identity, right to work, employment history and criminal record checks (via Disclosure & Barring Services (DBS).

Some of our roles may require additional security vetting. We will advise candidates during the recruitment process if additional vetting may be required for that specific role.

Closing date: Wednesday 21st October 2026 at 23:59pm

Inclusion

We are happy to consider any reasonable adjustments that people may need during the recruitment process, and you will be asked whether you require any during the application process.

Research indicates that women, individuals with disabilities, LGBTQ+ community members, neurodiverse individuals, and people from ethnic minority backgrounds often hesitate to apply for jobs unless they meet every single qualification. At Ordnance Survey, we are dedicated to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and genuine workplace where everyone can thrive.

If you’re enthusiastic about this role but your experience doesn’t perfectly match every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You might be the ideal candidate for this or other roles within Ordnance Survey.
