We help clients achieve compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) through the preparation or review of Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) and Environmental Assessments (EAs) for projects nationwide. We also help clients with environmental compliance, permitting, and siting for their projects. To support our growth, ICF is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner to work remotely, with a preference for staff to be located in Florida or the Eastern United States (east of the Mississippi River). Staff may work remotely and have the option to work from one of our offices such as the Reston, VA office. This position will support clients’ NEPA compliance for a variety of project types including but not limited to: energy (mining, transmission, renewables), disaster management environmental services, and transportation.

Key Responsibilities for this position may include:
- Serving as a lead reviewer for NEPA projects
- Interacting with applicants and agency staff
- Helping agency staff manage the preparation of EAs and EISs (which are usually prepared by the applicant’s contractor)
- Reviewing NEPA documents prepared by the applicant’s contractor
- Reviewing environmental components of applications
- Participating in the Project Management team
- Acting as PM on EAs or DPM on EISs
- Developing written materials and analyses for EAs or EISs or categorical exclusions
- Serving as a liaison to direct technical staff on project teams
- Coordinating project deliverables with document production staff
- Developing and monitoring project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Organizing and facilitating meetings (such as preparing agendas, developing and presenting meeting content, and preparing summaries)
- Communicating with clients, stakeholders, and agency staff
What you need to have (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in natural or physical science, urban planning, public policy, economics, environmental management or related subjects
- 4+ years of relevant professional experience
What we would like you to have (preferred experience):
- Experience leading or supporting project management teams
- Experience with developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets
- Experience interfacing with clients and internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with NEPA projects for Transportation and Energy projects
- Experience with NEPA and other environmental compliance related to FEMA or HUD projects
Professional skills you will use:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, including ability to prioritize and multi-task under strict deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to succeed with new and challenging tasks

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
